I completed my first complete week of workouts! I’m feeling very good about things. The planche training went very well this morning. I could actually feel the change in strength today! I am going to continue the 20 second holds for the remainder of March and work up to 30 seconds by April. After that I’m going to have to push to meet my June 30 deadline. I worked back as well. The run was good considering there is drizzle with some freezing stuff falling :) .I ran 3 miles in 23:57 which is a minute slower than my personal best on Monday. Considering the leg workout I had on Wednesday, I’ll take it!

This week my page went over 2,000 hits. Thank you all for visiting and leaving comments!

Have a great weekend!

Here is what I did today:

3 x 25 Dead Lifts

3 x 25 Push-up Rows

3 x 25 Bridge Push-ups

3 x 15 Pull-ups

Tuck Planche

Finished another workout! I worked abs and did my push-ups. Today, the cardio was rough because my legs were sore and tight from yesterday’s workout (I hadn’t worked legs in almost 2 weeks because of the weather and being ill). I managed to get through the run and realized that I actually ran an extra lap because I was really concentrating too hard on how my legs felt. :( I will stretch and rest them tonight after work.

Here is what I did today:

(Circuit w/2 minutes rest)

3 x 50 Push-ups-Weighted

3 x (2 x 25)

Cross-Body Mountain Climbers

3 x 1.0 min-Side Plank-Inclined

3 x (2 x 25) Spider Man Push-up

3 x 1.0 min Front Plank

3 x 1.0 min. Evacuations

Cardio

3 x 25 Jumping Jacks

3 x 25 Windmills

3 x (2 x 40 yd) Agility Drills

3 x (2 x 40 yd) sprints

2.2 Mile run

Today I split my workout. This morning before taking Grandma out to her appointments and her errands, I did planche training and my leg workout. I tried something different in that I did my tuck-planches between sets of leg exercises. This made the workout more of a "circuit" and it was a bit tougher.

This afternoon, I did my 3 mile circuit (15 laps) by running 2 laps and walking a lap between every 2 laps. This was also a change that introduced a bit more challenge. I had been alternating running and walking every other lap. My legs can tell the difference. I count this as another good workout.

Here is what I did today:

3 x 25 Squats

3 x 25 Seated Calf raisers

3 x 25 1-Leg Squats

3 x 25 1-Leg Calf raisers

Tuck Planche

6 x 20 seconds*

Pseudo Push-ups

2 x 45**

1 x 15 Tiger Push-ups

*interspersed between sets of leg exercises.

**2 minute rest between sets.

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

I had another great workout! I did planche push-up training, chest, and my abs superset. The planche training has been challenging but good since I’ve up the time for the tuck-planche to 20 seconds. After the first 4 the arms are pretty much shot, but I’m able to hold the last 2 positions, but not with very straight arms. The strength and endurance is coming.  The chest continues to improve and the abs don’t appear to have been hurt from not doing a full workout on Tuesdays.

The run went very well today. In addition to doing my interval training, etc., I ran 2 miles in 15:17. The great thing about this is that for two days, I have run approximately a 7:39 mile. So, I’m approaching that 7 minute mark. Hopefully, I will hit this by mid summer or earlier.

Here is what I did today:

(SWISS BALL)

3 x 25 Chest Press 3 x 25 Pec Flys

3 x 25 Push-ups

Tuck Planche:

6 x 20 seconds*

Pseudo Push-ups:

2 x 45*

*2 minutes rest between each set.

1 x 15 Tiger Push-ups

1 x 50 Push-ups

1 x 100 Reverse Crunch 1 x 100 Side Crunch

1 x 100 Crunch 1 x 100 Russian Twists

3 x 15 Hanging Leg Raises Cardio

3 x 25 Jumping Jacks 3 x 25 Windmills

3 x (2 x 40 yd) Agility Drills 3 x (2 x 40 yd) sprints

2 Mile run

Monday-March 9, 2009

Monday, March 9th, 2009

I completed my first full workout in about a week. It went very well. Today was arm and shoulder day! Although a little weak from my brief illness, I was able to get the workout done and felt very good afterward. The challenge for me was to see how my 3-mile run would go. Although my legs felt a little weak, they felt good (light) and I was surprised that I ran 22:57. So, I’m happy. I guess the layoff did have its benefits.

Here is what I did today:

3 x 25 Hammer Curls

3 x 25 Overhead Triceps Extensions

3 x 25 Military Press

3 x 25 Upright Rows

3 x 25 Lateral Dumbbell Raises

1 x 15 Pull-ups

3 x 15 Chin-ups

I had a great planche training workout today. I wasn’t as I weak as I thought I would be. I also added a set of Tiger Push-ups to the routine. I lowered myself using a 3 count and then pushed quickly up. I could only manage 15! They kick butt. I felt pretty good so I walked a very brisk 2 miles instead of 1 mile.

I’m looking forward to getting back on track this week. I decided to do week 3 over since I missed so many of the workouts.

Have a great week everyone.

I got back into working out very slowly. Honestly, I did a little of this and a little of that. I’m still feeling a little weak, but glad I at least moved the "old  body" today. ;) I tried one tuck planche today just to see how it would feel and I felt very weak, although I held it for 20 seconds. I attribute this, in part, to not eating as much as I should have due to not feeling well. Hopefully by Sunday, I will be feeling stronger. I did a brisk 2-mile walk and found myself coughing once I got warmed up. My first 3-mile run on Monday after a week off should be interesting! :( It still was good to get out there in the beautiful weather in spite of not feeling my best. The body feels "primed" again and did respond to the little bit I did do.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I am going to continue to rest and gain strength. Take care!

Here is what I did today:

1 x 20 sec. Tuck Planche

1 x 25 Half-Burpees

2 x 55 Push-ups 1 x 100 Reverse Crunch

1 x 100 Side Crunch

1 x 100 Crunch

1 x 100 Trunk Twisters

1 x 100 Side Bends

3 x 15 Hanging Leg Raises

3 x 15 Chin-ups

3 x 15 Pull-ups

Cardio

2 Mile Brisk Walk

Taking one more day off! I feel like I’m slacking! :( I My head is still congested and still aches some. However, I feel better than I did on yesterday. The good thing is, if and when I get sick, I tend to get through it fairly quickly. I will do my ab workout and back workout tomorrow. I will wait and pick up the planche training again on Sunday. I want to ease back into things.

Now, I’m going to drink a cup of tea (green tea, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, cider vinegar, lemon juice, honey, and cayenne pepper…tastes terrible but makes me feel better. LOL!) and pop some more vitamin C tablets.

Take care everyone!

Although I’m not feeling the best, I still had to get Grandma out to her appointments. No one else to do it. I decided not to push things today and to take the day off. I will work legs and abs on tomorrow if I feel better. I’m going to get a hot cup of green tea and take a nap!

Be well everyone!
