Still trying to get back into the groove. I haven’t done any planche training this week. I completed my basic workouts and will add the planche training starting on next Sunday. I began my six-week workout cycle #10 without a written down program. I’ve decided not to radically change anything this cycle, except that I will use less time resting between sets of exercises and will increase reps by 5. It his, however, clearly time to get some significantly heavier dumbells so as to bring my reps down. I’m thinking bypassing 40 and trying some 45 or 50 pound dumbells.
I did a LOT of paperwork on yesterday and this morning and really had to fight myself to get moving this afternoon. I completed the workout and that was worth it. Hopefully, I will recapture my enthusiasm.
Here is what I did today:
|
3 x 30 Concentration Curls
3 x 30 Triceps Kickbacks
3 x 30 Military Press
3 x 30 Shrugs
3 x 30 Lateral Dumbbell Raises
3 x 30 sec. Static Curls
Cardio:

We have just returned from seeing my step-father at the hospital. He suffered some minor complications from an operation that should have been routine and have required an overnight stay. Once again, being diabetic and not taking care of oneself played a role. He caught a mild infection and his blood pressure went way up. He will be coming home on tomorrow. Hopefully, we can talks some sense into him about diet and exercise.
I completed another double workout today, which meant I hit all body parts in two days. I also ran my first 3 miles in over a week. It was a tough, but satisfying workout.
Have a great weekend everyone and someone kick my butt for getting off track! LOL!

The first workout of this week for me! I’m fighting to get things back on track. I’m not happy at this moment. Internet Explorer 8 crashed my computer and I took an entire day to reformat my hard drive. I went back to IE7 and probably will wait to purchase a new computer running windows 7 and IE8. Hopefully, the bugs will be worked out by then. On Tuesday I went to court for a ticket that was going to be thrown out and had to wait 2.5 hours just to see the judge for 1 minute. I continue to do my usual family errands and this week, for some reason, has been brutal. It seems like EVERYONE needs something. Additionally, my step-father who basically ignores any health advice from us has suffered complications from a "minor" sugery and is in the hospital.
I have a ton of work to do, but was determined to get the workout in. I doubled up workouts today (arms & shoulders and leg workout) and will do the same on tomorrow (chest and back). It was a great workout, I’m just mad that things are spinning out of control, most of which has NOTHING to do with me! LOL! Sunday, I will do Thursday’s ab workout and planche training and hope that Monday I can regain some control of my time.
Tomorrow, I have to do some banking for an aunt, take my niece to school (just found that out), and take my mother to see my step-father. BUT, the workout will be done. Hopefully, things will settle down by the weekend!

I MUST ALSO SAY THANK YOU TO ALL OF MY BODYSPACE FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES WHO OFFERED THEIR CONDOLENCES AND ENCOURAGING WORDS. I REALLY APPRECIATE THE SUPPORT.
I also realized that this week marks the one year anniversary of working out. I am entering the last week of my 9th six-week cycle. I made it through rain, sleet, and snow. LOL! Just returned home from attending my frat brother’s funeral. Although a sad occasion, it provided us with the opportunity to reconnect. It turned into what I call a "happy-sad" occasion. It was encouraging to have brothers and friends comment on my "being in shape" and vowing to start taking better care of themselves. The theme of the comments made during the funeral was that my frat brother did not take good care of himself. He left a beautiful wife and child behind.
If nothing but a 30 minute walk everyday, start moving! I will start again tomorrow. Take care everyone!

I had to take a realistic view of what I had planned to do today. After a day of running errands and doctor’s appointments, I realized that I am drained. Additionally, Facebook and the telephone, have kept me busy because of the impending funeral of my fraternity brother. I’ve spoken to people whom I’ve not spoken to in over 20 years! It is sad that this occasion is what has caused the dialog. It has been emotionally draining and I’ve felt more tired mentally than I’ve been in a while. After the funeral tomorrow there will be some closure and things will begin to return to "normal".
So, all of my BodySpace Friends and visitors to my page, I will check in on Friday after I resume my workouts. Take care everyone!

Today I had a very difficult time getting started. I had a lot of work to do for my job. I now have an additional responsibility (Quality Assurance Clinician) which requires me to read ALL client progress notes and critique them. Additionally, I honestly am having a delayed reaction to the loss of my frat brother. I will serve as a pallbearer on Thursday. I will have to work out very early Thursday morning before heading down to Chatham for the funeral.
Other than that, once I got started the workout went reasonably well. I worked arms and shoulders today. I took a nice "leisurely" 3 mile run on the muddy trail. Otherwise, I might have ended up face down in mud. I was able to clear my mind some.
This week things point toward Thursday. I will continue to workout and use that to keep my mind off of things.
Here is what I did today:
|
3 x 25 Concentration Curls
3 x 25 Triceps Kickbacks
3 x 25 Military Press
3 x 25 Shrugs
3 x 25 Front Dumbbell Raises
3 x 30 sec.. Hanging Curl
