Today is a carbon copy of yesterday! Another beautiful day. I worked abs today. Because I don’t have adequate weights I always do push-ups on my ab days as well. I’ve worked up to 3 sets of 90 push-ups. I do one set of them prior to each set of ab exercises which I do as a circuit. I’ve been concentrating on maintaining good form. I also felt so good that I ran an extra mile today!

I ate fairly "clean" this weekend and feel a slight difference in my abs. Hopefully, I’ve lost a little fat around the mid-section. Right now my biggest concern is keeping the diet clean. Hopefully, Friday’s pictures will reflect that effort.

Take care everyone and continue to pursue your goals.

Here is what I did today:

3 x 90 Push-ups

3 x 90 Crunch

3 x 90 Bridges

3 x 90 Reverse Crunch

3 x 90 Standing Crunch

3 x 90 Trunk Twisters

3 x 90 Side Bends

Cardio:

6 x 20 Jumping Jacks

6 Agility Drills

6 sprints

2 Mile run

Today is a beautiful Virginia Fall day! It is sunny, 59 degrees, and slightly windy.  I had to start my workout week early because I know I won’t be able to work out on Tuesday. So, I only had one day rest from last week. It was a great workout, however. I worked arms and shoulders. I utilized the Swiss ball as a "bench" for parts of the workout. It really causes you to work to remain stable while completing the exercises.

As far as the cardio went, I thought I was easing up on my three mile run a bit because I didn’t have the usual two day rest. It turns out I ran the three miles 30 seconds faster than I did on Friday (I always note the starting time for my runs and don’t look again at my watch until I’m done). It is always great to get a surprise like that. Tomorrow, my cardio will consist of some interval stuff, agility drills, and a 1 mile run.

Speaking of cardio, I have a question about running shoes. I have been a dedicated New Balance person until this last pair. At times I’ve noticed strange aches in my legs while running. Although not serious, my research has led me to believe that this is due to my running shoes. I have been looking for one with more arch support and am considering a pair of Nikes for my next purchase. Do those of you who consistently use cardio as part of your workout have any suggestiions for a running shoe? As mentioned previously, I do need better arch support.

Other points, I have been all over this site and got so motivated that I went out, purchased, and prepared the RIGHT foods and will be putting up my pull-up bar within the week. I’ve been blessed that I’ve progressed without paying too much attention to my diet. I do know, however, that I’ve eaten cleaner in the past and my abs and back have looked better. So, thanks everyone for the comments, encouragement, and motivation.

Here is what I did today:

(SWISS BALL)

3 x 20 Curls 3 x 20 Skull Crusher

3 x 20 Military Press 3 x 20 Shrugs

3 x 20 Dumbbell Raises-Front

3 x 1.0 min. Static Curl

Cardio:

3 Mile Run

I want to see how I look on this Friday after a week of clean eating and will post pictures then.

Until tomorrow, take care!

Today was one of those days that makes you want to stay in bed.  It is cloudy, drizzling, and cool today here in Virginia. So, I pushed myself to work chest and back, concentrating more on form and technique. As far as cardio, today was my three mile run. I’ve found once you get moving, the workout gains its own momentum. This was true today. I had one of my best runs in a while. This is great because I’ve only come to like running distances of any type in my "old age." I ran three miles today in 26:30, not my best but good enough for a tough day. Earlier this week, I ran a 6:30 mile without really pushing it too much (I had worked legs that day. LOL!). Anyway, stay motivated and keep on pushing towards your goals. Have a great weekend!

What I did today:

(SWISS BALL)

Chest (Using 30 lb dumbells)

3 x 20 Chest Press

3 x 20 Pec Flys

Back:

3 x 40 Dead Lifts

3 x 20 Push-up Rows

3 x 40 Bridge Push-ups (Back)

3 x 40 Push-ups (Balancing with hands on the Swiss Ball, takes some effort to keep the ball stable, but works chest and gives a workout to the arms as well)

Cardio:

3 Mile Run

Believe it or not, I had never taken a shirtless picture as an adult until July 2008. I had never felt that comfortable about my body, although I have been in better shape than I am currently in. So, to create a webpage that is totally dedicated to fitness and bodybuilding is a big leap for me. Yesterday, I put up this site and was surprised at the encouragement and positive comments I received. I thank those members of have visited my page already and those who have sent messages and rated my pictures. That makes a 44 year "old" man feel good. LOL!

Today is ab day. I work abs on Tuesdays and Thursdays followed by a mixture of interval cardio training and a 1 mile run. Here’s what I’m doing today:

(USING SWISS BALL)

3 x 80 Push-ups

3 x 80 Crunch

3 x 80 Side Crunch

3 x 80 Reverse Crunch

3 x 80 Russian Twists

3 x 3.0 min. Evacuations

Cardio:

5 x 20 Jumping Jacks

5 Agility Drills

5 sprints

1 Mile run

I work back and chest tomorrow so, if anyone has any bodyweight or dumbbell exercises that will help me work my back more effectively, feel free to contact me! Thanks again!
