This morning I had my appointment in the BodPod. Oh how I love it! It is so cool how it breaks up your weight into fat mass and lean mass. I will compare my previous results with today’s:
5/29
- weight-118.73
- BF%-15.6
- fat weight-18.5
- lean weight-100.2
7/9
- weight-123.05
- BF%-14.7
- fat weight-18.05
- lean weight-105
So I’ve gained 5lbs of muscle and my body fat percent went down, yay! This definitely motivates me to keep going and lose that fat weight too. My training program has been going awesome, I love my trainer! I am 79 days away from my first show and super excited!

I’ve been doing pretty well on my diet now. I am still not reaching my goal of 125g of protein each day, for some reason it is hard for me to eat that much protein! Well I guess I should say on days where I just do cardio I am usually short on my protein intake, but days where I have cardio and weights, then I reach the goal. My coach also said to decrease my carbs to 80g, it was at 100g. I’ve been playing around with what I can and cannot eat, so that is working pretty well. And my fat is 25-30g, which I normally hit every day. I haven’t been training consistantly, so now that I am almost 12 weeks out, I will make sure to hit the gym at least 4 times per week now. It’s really nice this past month that I’ve seen changes in my body and am really starting to see definition a lot more. I never thought I had calf muscles, but now I see them! It’s really exciting to watch these changes!
If anybody has any good high protein/low carb recipees I would love to know! Thanks!

So it is almost the end of my second week of training and dieting. I am eating around 1100kcal a day, roughly 100-120g pro, 100g carb, and 25g fat. I am allowed one day where I can increase my carbs to 200g, but my coach said this is not a cheat meal. I still have be clean. So I think tomorrow that will be my day. I get tested today in the BodPod at my college. Here are my stats, I’ll use these as a baseline:
weight: 118.7lbs
%bf: 15.6%
fat weight: 18.5lbs
lean weight: 100.2lbs
I think these are good numbers to start with, plus I’ve been training for almost two weeks now. I’m excited to see the changes in my body as I keep progressing towards show date!

I got a coach since I am competing in my first show. He’s put me on a diet, so I am eating chicken and turkey again. I don’t think I’ll go back to eating beef, at least not yet. It has only been two and half days on this new diet and I’ve been a little tired. It will be hard to get used to this new way of eating and not as much calories. I am not supposed to go over 1200calories which is so little to me! I’m used to eating closer to about 1700-1800calories a day! But I am eating a lot cleaner too-no more cookies or brownies or cake
I love my chocolate! But can’t have it right now. It will be worth it. If i am going to do this show, I am going all the way and not half ass it.
My cousin is getting married in June, so I get to go to Hawaii for the wedding! Which means thats about two weeks of I don’t know what to do! What about the food? Will I be able to get my workouts in? What about the day of the wedding and wedding rehearsal dinner? Agh! And the plane ride, oh the plane ride. Four hours to LA, then layover and another five hours to Maui. That is a long time on a plane!
That is all for now!

For the past two weeks now I’ve been eating no meat. I’ve decided to become vegetarian. I still eat eggs, dairy, seafood so I can get the protein I need. I’m also going to start using whey protein, make a shake out of it, and drink after my workouts. It hasn’t been too hard not eating any meat, although I could use some recipes. I’ve found a couple, but for a lifelong diet change I’m really going to have to be creative with my meals now. I’m hoping to see some changes with my body with this new diet.
