Vacation, GI Jane, and a wonderful workout
Sunday, May 4th, 2008So, I went to Mexico. In Mexico I lost 5 pounds! Perhaps it was because I could only eat beans and rice the whole time I was there (vegetarians don’t fare well in Latin American countries), but whatever it was, I needed those 5 pounds as a jumpstart.
Yesterday I went to get my hair cut, annnnnnd I cut almost all of it off. I realized that emotionally I needed less weight on my shoulders. So, step one was to make my head lighter…literally. Now I DO have less weight on my shoulders. This is the second time I’ve gone GI Jane. The first time I got my act together and lost 60 pounds. Let’s hope round two is as successful. Really, I can already feel more confident. It takes a confident woman to wear a "boyish" haircut. Or maybe just a smart woman because I can spend several minutes less in the shower messing with my curly whatnot on my head. Whichever it is, I feel MUCH better after that haircut. It’s amazing how stuff like that works.
Finally, today I worked out rather well. I think I am going to try to start doing HIIT in the gym so I can have time to meditate/do some deep thinking at night. An hour of cardio sounds like fun until I realize that it’s an HOUR. Today was a good day. I didn’t eat perfectly, but I did stay under my calories for the day. In fact, I still need to eat about 300 more cals. Sounds like a burrito and a can of green beans is calling my name!
