Bulking Up

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Ok, so I haven’t posted anything in here for a while and honestly I haven’t done much different and the results (being negligable) needed to change. So today I’ve started to get more serious. I’m bulking up by getting on the mass shakes and I’m already feeling that work. Going hard on the weights and making sure I get some fuel (aka food) b4 I hit the weights at the gym during my lunch break at work. Wednesdays I do a group fitness class called Body Pump, it’s a weights based class.

Punishment

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

3 weeks ago I went on holiday to the Gold Coast and didn’t think about even working out.  Basically I haven’t done anything since because when I got back I got a cold.  So today I went down to the gym and jumped into the PUMP class.  Man did I get a punishment.  I think my body is still recovering from my cold and it doesn’t take much to feel achy.  I’m wanting to go pretty hard with the gym now and really get serious about my training and eating.  I’m wanting to cut my bodyfat down which I know has increased significantly since I stopped training.  And I’m also wanting to put on serious size.  I’ll keep everyone updated on how things are going.

End of the “Anything Goes” Bulk

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

I have been trying to bulk up over the last 3 months.  My weight has increased by about 2kg and I feel like I have gotten alot stronger in this time.  I also think that my chest, legs, and arms feel alot fuller.  Ok I have to admit it though, my eating has not been as great as it could potentially be, but it is way better than it was.  I have a pretty busy schedule throughout the week and have little time to get a proper meal after the gym cos I usually have meetings straight after.  However I have been heavily supplementing my intake with lots of protein and Celltech creatine (my cycle is about to finish).  I have increased my eating as per below.

7am = cerial + protein shake

10am = chicken sandwich/mixed bean salad/protein bar

1pm = roast/sushi (high protein meal)

5pm = protein shake/bar

7.30pm (busy night) = subway/wendy’s chiil/ protein shake

7.30pm (free night) = high protein meal eg chicken, tuna, meat

9pm (busy night) = high protein meal

10.30pm = protein shake

Patience

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

Well it seems as though God has certainly been teaching me patience over the last 6 months. First in Japan and now on the employment front. For those of you unfamiliar with my story, well I left my job in December to go to Japan for 3 weeks and have been unemployed since, except for doing the odd temping work.  But today I am glad to say that I have now got a job. PRAISE THE LORD. Over the last couple of months I have certainly had my ups and downs, well more downs probably, but this month has seen a nice steady up, starting with the temping I have been doing at the uni and now peaking at the phone call I got today saying I got the job @ TVNZ (our New Zealand state broadcaster). I just now clicked as well that it was exactly 5 months 2day that I gave my speech about patience in Japan. Coincidence or something more, I dunno, just ironic I suppose. Anyway thats enough from me for now. And remember, "Don’t be a great man, just be a man and let history make it’s own judgements"

Makes Me Sick

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Hey everyone, I know I haven’t written anything in aaages, but I have still been training however soemwhat poorly.  I haven’t been wourking since December and I went through a really bad time mentally, emotionally, and in my training.  But every cloud has its silver lining.  I have recently been doing temp work at the local university and have started to feel much better about things.  I’ve been to many job interviews too, and although they have yet to become work for me, it is all practice for the one I do get.  As for training, I have picked up the pace and started a new program, eating more (and healthily) and have been stuffing myself with protein shakes at least 3 times per day.  I’m really trying to bulk up over the winter and put some serious size on.

 As for the title, "Makes Me Sick", well thats because I had a really intense leg workout today.  I had a protein shake about 10am and then @ 11am had a creatine drink.  Then I realised that my dad had my car today, so I had to walk about 4 k’s to the gym b4 my workout.  Legs 2day.  I went pretty hard out on them cos I haven’t done them in a while and they are seriously lacking.  Towards the end of my workout I started to feel kinda sick, but I kept going, doing leg extensions.  I wasn’t feeling too good so I thought I’d go sit in the locker room just incase.  About 30 seconds after sitting down I had to sprint for the toilet and spew.  It was just water by the look of it, weird, but after felt so much better and finished my workout.  This has never happened b4, I mean I’ve felt sick b4 but never actually vomitted.  So I was just wondering if maybe any of you guys have had the same thing happen to you?

Back From Japan

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

Yesterday I got back from spending 3 weeks in Japan.  I have to be honest with you all though, when I was in Japan I couldn’t stop eating anything I could get my hands on.  It was cold and there wasn’t a whole lot to do in some of the places I was staying, so I ate.  I didn’t have any workout time either.  So I don’t think that my holiday has been very kind to my body.  Especially coming back into summer here in New Zealand.

Today I thought I’d make a good start and so I went to the gym.  However, as I finished my last set on my first exercise, (lying d/b press) one of the trainers came up to me and told me that they closed at 12 because of it being the holiday season.  It was already 12.

So that was a very brief reintroduction to the gym after my holiday.
