Can’t Stomach It!!
The chicken breast. Hate it. Used to love it. Then I hated it. Then it was tolerable. Well, I’m back to hating it. Started a new transformation challenge this morning, and I cooked up a crapload of breasts for my work lunches. Cannot even stand the freakin’ SMELL of it, and I don’t even re-heat those lil b!tches. I just eat it cold. Reheated? DIZZZ-GUSTING!!! What am I gonna do????? Perhaps I’ll smother it in ranch dressing… No. I won’t. I’m just gonna have to figure out a different source of lean protein that I can stomach. I already supp with protein powder 2-3 times a day. Don’t wanna rely on it so much. Trying to stay away from the deli meats. Love red meat, but you know you need to watch it. Love cottage cheese most days, but it’s becoming more and more like the breasts. Some days, icks me OWT!! Crap. Egg whites? Eh. I can only handle ‘em so much, and I really, really only like ‘em with toast. Maybe I’ll try oatmeal/pp for breakfast, and move my egg whites/toast to lunch.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

I get the same way with chicken..sometimes just can’t eat it for a while. I move to more fish, especially for lunch.

LOL……I’m in the same boat with boiled eggs. Used to like’em, but lately I just can’t seem to choke’em down. My wife’s boiled some for me to bring to work………and I secretly ended up tossing them out. The thought of them just makes me pukish right now. Cottage cheese? Ewww, disgusting from the get-go.
I need to start mixing in more edamame, nuts, almonds, etc.

I like to make chicken salad with chicken breasts. Shred it up, mix with dijon mustard, maybe diced celery. It’s delicious.
As for egg white, do the same by mixing with dijon. It tastes like deviled eggs, if that’s what you like. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like deviled eggs.

I’m a big fan of canned Salmon. I get the store brand (Kroger), rinse it off to try to remove as much sodium as possible, add some mustard or horseradish, or wasabe or whatever I feel like.
72 grams of lean protein, plus omega-3’s and calcium, for $2 and change. Can’t beat it.

When I was just out of my last show I was dunking my chicken in my coffee just to give some taste. If you don’t want to overkill it sprinkle it with some onion salt for a change best off luck. Karl

I was gonna suggest the same thing as kathyfit and Booshnoogs - turkey breast and salmon. And I honestly feel that this media programmed avoidance of red meat is a bit overblown, myself.

I only grill my chicken breasts. First I defrost those little puppies the slow and natural way.. no microwave! Then I let ‘em soak in some type of marinade, mesquite, herb & wine, or whatever. Then I fire up the grill and let those bad boys cook using indirect heat. When they are fresh off the grill they are moist and delicious. If you re-heat them in the microwave cut them into little pieces to avoid drying it out. They are more moist than if they are baked!
Cook a bunch at once since firing up the grill is no quick task. Either that or go for turkey and salmon, LOL.

Hey Brooke…I know chicken can get a little boring. I typically take half a dozen breasts and cut them up in decent size cubes and boil them. Once done and cooled off they go in the tupperware and in the fridge.
Now comes the fun part. You can do just about anything with the little bastards. Try taking some broccoli precooked in a baggie in the microwave (keeps it nice and crunchy), some corn, precooked brown rice and salsa. Put everything in a tupperware bowl mix it and stick it in the microwave and nuke it.
You can also use a cream of broccoli or cream of chicken soup diluted with water and mix in rice and WHATEVER! Hell you can just heat them up and dip them in your favorite dressing.
And last but not least…as others have mentioned…in a SALAD! Cesar and I get along real well!!
OK now Queen Gorgo…you made me a promise! ENJOY!
