Seriously, why does this always happen to me???

Why is it that every single time I start working out and getting serious about it, I get really sick??

I wind up getting flu like symptoms every time after a week or two of working out consistantly…and I get derailed every time. 

I was doing so well the past week or two, with my halloween challenge and then BAM! I’m sick AGAIN!  I haven’t been able to work out all week, I haven’t had much of an appetite  so I haven’t been eating properly…and I feel like everything is getting soft again.  ugh…I’m disgusted….I feel like any progress I was making has completely deteriorated all over again…total bummer.

Any idea why this happens?  When I say I’m sick, I mean like dead man walking…exhausted, head feeling like it’s going to explode, throat so sore, I can barely swallow, swollen glands, ear aches…

I’m feeling better finally today ( but I felt better yesterday during the day and then got really ill at night) not a 100% but more like 65% …should I workout?  I really wanted to up my cardio this week and take it up to 45 minutes to an hour becuase I was only doing 30 minutes (although very high intensity) last week.

Any advice??

Halloween Challenge

I got my Costume today!!  I am being the Queen of Hearts and I have 3 other girlfriends that are following the theme…so we have Alice, the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit and myself as the queen.

my costume is really cute….but I am gonna have to work my ASS off for the next two weeks, so I can look fabulous in it!! Halloween Costume I should specify this picture is NOT me….I just have the costume she’s wearing….

Calories burned confusion…Please Help!!

ok, so I know that they say that elliptical calorie counters can be pretty skew’d….so I always just estimate 100 or so less calories than what it tells me…but I’m really interested in finding out how much I am burning…

I’m 31, my usual heart rate is between 180-190 (I like to work out at my maximum rate) and I’m pushing 200-400 watts and I using my entire body.

If I do 25 minutes like this, the machine says I am burning between 500 -600 calories.

Can somebody help me figure this out…there is so much information on the web, so many contradictions…and I’ve even read that heart rate monitors (which I thought we the best thing to use) can be really off also…

so how are we ever to know what the truth is???

 

 

Halloween Challenge…So far so good..

So I know it’s only been a few days since I decided to do a Halloween challenge…but I have done pretty well with sticking too it….I haven’t done as much P90X as I would like, but I have been sticking to my 25 minute minimum on the elliptical…at a very high wattage…so I am burning 400-500 cals per session, and then do 15 minutes or so of weights…I noticed today that my jeans are starting to fit better already…I have a size 10’s that I am perpetually trying to get into, or back into…lol…so I’m back on trying to get into them…they fit now, but are skin tight and create a large muffin top…BUT the muffin top is a little smaller this week than it was last week….every little bit helps!!

Newest Progress pic

Ok, so I took my newest progress pic last night…UGH…how awful…I can’t beleive I have let myself get that bad again!  I’m so disappointed in myself…my butt is totally saggin…and I look totally bloated…

That is the motivation I needed!!  I am back into things, full swing…started cardio again the other day, and P90X last night…

I was having a real hard time doing my cardio for the past two days…my heart rate was sooo high and I couldn’t slow it down, and couldn’t catch my breath….then I realized what a dumb ass I had been…I am taking Lipo6 and was taking it 30-45 minutes before taking Superpump!!!  Duh…

Well, I won’t make that mistake again….

 So, off to do some kick ass cardio!

Halloween Challenge

So, I really needed a goal to get my butt motivated for…I’ve been dealing with a little bit of depression the past week or two….and I’m trying really hard to pull myself out of my funk….

My husbands band has a really awesome show lined up for Halloween…that I am really excited about…I LOVE Halloween!!  and I really want to get a sexy little outfit to look Hot in. 

So my goal is to lose 6-10 lbs in the next three weeks….I will workout everyday…at the minimum I will do 25 minutes of hardcore work on the elliptical (I know this isn’t that much…but it is my minimum)…or do my P90X…

ok, I just needed to post that info here…to keep me real…

Oh boy…things have been so crazy busy aroud here this week….my hubby’s band has had a LOT of shows lately…and it’s not over yet!  Another one tomorrow and two more next week….we have been so busy with all that, that my routine has totally been off…I’ve had more pizza this week then I’d like to admit…and only been able to work out twice….I’m so exhausted today, that as much as I mentally want to work out, physically, I’d much rather take a nap on the couch…

How am I ever gonna get all sexy with this lifestyle????!?!??

That is my new motto…I have been saying it to myself daily…and honestly..it pushes me to want to work out and eat right…

I’ve started telling people, well my husband and a friend or two, how I am interested in competing…I have awesome people in my life, and they have been so supportive…so, I’m gonna do it….I know it’s gonna be sooo hard and I really do need to find a good trainer/nutritionalist, because I’ve never done anything like that before and I would hate to do all the hard work and then get up on stage and come in dead last!!  :)

Seriously, why is it so freakin hard to find a trainer around here?!?
