Getting back to it…

Been a while since I got on here for a blog. I’ve been going to the gym ever since I got back in Feb. but not as intensly as I was in Kuwait. Well, I was going to try and get back my old weight I had in Kuwait, plus the lifting stats, and as soon as I get back on track for it and I found a lifting partner, my supervision wants to change up my schedule to f*** things up. Anyway I’m trying to make an effort to gain some more permanent weight. That water weight shit won’t work forever…

Wow! The last 2 days have been a bit of a coaster ride. Yesterday I officially attempted the 1000 lbs Club. Yes, attempted. I tried going for my max right off the bat and screwed up. Apparently I couldn’t go down in weight, according to the rules for the evaluation. I started with bench at 235, and for some ****ing reason I couldn’t get it… probably too much time off, I don’t know. So I went back today after watching my diet and made it.

 I started with bench again but with 225. Got it and went to 230. Got that and went to 235, and didn’t get it. Oh, well. I squated my way up to 395, wich I probably could have gotten 415 if I hadn’t played it safe. So, all I had to do was 375 on deadlift to make the 1000 lbs club. I threw it up with a little effort. I was in so I decided to jump to 415 since I knew I’d get 395 easy. Well it went about as well as when I tried 405 a week ago. Got it to my knees and had to put it down before my pants exploded in a fury of poop. I made it. Got my goal that I had set for myself, YA-****ING-HOO!!!

 

 

 Now what? Any suggestions?

1000 lbs club

So I maxed out yesterday, good shit for the most part. I’ll make the 1000 lbs club, but to be honest with you I didn’t bench 245 lbs. For some reason I was only able to get 235. I don’t think I warmed up well enough. I am going to make the 1000 lbs club though. I squated 395 lbs, deadlifted 395 lbs, and benched 235. I’ll make it, but I’d be happier if I could get 245 on bench. I’m going to meet my goal though. HELL YEA!!!

1000 lbs club

I just started my rest period before being evaluated for the 1000 lbs club. I’m taking a few days off from the gym all together to recuperate and then get evaluated before I ship home. Getting butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it. ugh.

Alright. 2 days ago I was doing deadlifts and impressed myself by smashing my old max weight and then some. I started my deadlifts with a warm up of 5 reps at 135, simple. then I put on the heat. I did a 5 rep of 335, and afterwards felt really really good. So I decided I’d do a 3 rep and after each set stack on 20 lbs more until I couldn’t go anymore. I did 355, 3 reps. 375 2 reps. The destroyed my old max of 375 by tossing up 395. Good shit. Helps with the confidence. Especially, since I was having doubts about the 1000 lbs club. Oh I found out I only have 11 days to Max out now. 1 more week of training. A max out to see if I can get it. Rest for 3 days. Then take the test.

Ok, so I’ve been meaning to start a blog about 2 months ago just to keep track of how well I was doing with my goals, so if there’s anyone out there who cares I’m going to need to start from the begining.

 June - October 2005

I was deployed to Kuwait and didn’t have much to do but I did decide to start weight lifting. Except I had no clue how to. Only shit I knew I’d seen on TV and stuff. So I was going wicked early in the morning before my shift to avoid anyone who knew that I was lost. So a dude I knew, Hutch, saw me after shift one day and we started chatting. Told him what I was doing with the gym thing and he laughed. Invited me to lift with him and his buddy, Wes. I felt kinda honored really seeing how these guys were ****ing ginormous, and I thought, cool they’ll get me big. I was 155 soaking wet at the time. By the time I left Kuwait I had gained 20 lbs in less than 4 months. Happy me I made it in the 800 lbs club. Benched 215, Squated 335, Deadlifted 355… I think.

 October 2007 - present

 So here I am less than 3 weeks from going home to the states… again. And I’m sweating over if I can make the 1000 lbs club. It’s been my goal since I got here back in Oct. I can get it according to the BB.com Estimated 1 Rep Max machine. Hell it says I’ll get it by 16 lbs. Makes things easier on the mind. The only thing I’m worried about is my squats. I found out I wasn’t going low enough about a month ago… real set back. But I think I’ll be alright… more on that stuff later.
