When people find out that I workout I always get asked the famous question…What is your max on the bench? In my mind I say “I don’t max out, I workout”. I always tell them about 3 or I say I can’t take any chances maxing out back here by myself. My Friday workout is full body with heavy weight with special emphasis on the chest. A week and a half ago on Friday the 13th I miss my workout that night and I decided I’d make it up Saturday morning. When I woke up that morning I knew I was going to try and break some records. I’d been taking Halodrol for about two weeks and felt I really needed to add weight to get the full effect of it. Ok, in this workout I always start with a 3-set superset for the quads and hams then 10 sets for the calves. After that I start benching. It’s normally 4 sets that goes140lbs 15 reps, 190lbs 12 reps, 235lbs 10 reps, then 265lbs 8-10 reps. Well, on this day I wanted to move up from the 265. I don’t know how I decided on 290lbs but I loaded it up there. I looked at it for about 5 minutes trying to get my mind right. Let me say that the last time I maxed out was 2005, I was able to get 290lbs with a “generous” spotter. Back to the present, I had my friend to stand at the door as I was getting ready to lift it off the rack. I thought if I could get 5 that would be great. Here is how it went: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, (it was at this time I went to thinking about 10) Six, Seven, Eight, Nnnine, Tttten! I couldn’t believe what I had just done. According to a bench formula I have, my max should be about 385, which was hard for me to believe. I said that the next week I would get a spotter and finally max out. I finished my workout with 4 sets for the back and 6 more “finisher” sets for the chest. (incline and decline bench)
So the following Saturday I was at it again. This time I loaded 300lbs on the rack and was able to push it 8 times. I was able to find a spotter to come other for a special max day on Sunday the 22nd. I started with warm sets of 140lbs for 10 reps, 190 for 8, and 225 for 3. Then I went to 315lbs. This was the most I every lifted and I got it with ease. Next, was 325, no problem. Then 345, I said why not make it an even 350. My spotter watched me carefully as I lifted it off the bar and pushed it back up for a clean rep. We moved up to 360lbs. I lifted it off the rack and eased it down. At this point I already knew I wouldn’t get it back up, I told him to “get it”. I was very satisfied and impressed with myself. I couldn’t help but wonder if I had too many warm up sets. I thinking next time I should have to light warm up sets, then move straight to 325 or 345. Then I wondered was it the Halodrol pushing the weight or did I already have that strength stored in me. Either way I lifted 350lbs, at 6’0 19Xlbs and no one can take that from me.

I’m still trying to reach that 200 mark. I just got some new supplements. I’m only taking protein. I have two creatines that I might start taking soon. I thought I would have been there by now. Maybe I should take supp. more consistently. Usually after I finish a cycle I don’t start another for 2 or more months. That’s mainly because of money. Monday I’ll start back on my creatine for a month and see what that does.

I’m happy to say I gained 4lbs over the past month. Although my home page says I was at 190 I was actually at 186.5. That’s because I was usually two different scales. The regualr has me at about 192 or 193. The digital scale got me at 190.5. I decided to go with the digital since it should be more accurate. I’m going to continue to shoot for my goal of 200. Also, I’ll be posting new pics soon.

I just completed my first week of taking Gakic, Leukic, and Creakic. It’s hard say which one is working, but I really can say I’ve have good workouts. I’m also taking Animal Pak also. I have more energy, but it’s not like a jittery feeling. I don’t feel hyper. I just have a good, calm feeling. After taking a day off or after tough sets I don’t feel broken down. It’s kind of like being full strength every set while still getting a good buring pump. I’m also reduced my workout time by 5 or more mins. It may not seem like much, but when your trying to get your workout below or around 60 min any decrease helps. I’m still tweaking my workouts, trying to get each one just right. I’ll know if all this stuff pays off in about another month. Also, since starting the Animal Pak, I’ve been getting a good night’s sleep.

Monday I started my new routine and though I needed the rest, the time off did not make me stronger. I’ve often read you come back stronger after taking time off. I finshed most my exercises, but I really had to push for them. Needless to say I won’t be doing that any more. Maybe instead of taking a full week off I’ll circuit train with like weight. I’m still making slight changes trying to get my workout just right. Tonight is back night and the temperture is going to be in the low to mid 20s. To me it just says something when you are willing to freeze to get a workout in.
I also started some new supplements. One of them is Universal Animal Pak. It’s 11 tablets most of them about a 1/2 long. It’s a lil too early to see a big difference. I will say it takes about 20 oz of water to swallow them and I’ve released the brightest, yellowest pee I’ve every seen. It kinda reminds me of the yellow energy drinks. LOL! I’m still waiting on my Muscletech supplements to come. I’m eager to see if the hype is true. I’ll know soon enough.

Ok, Friday is here! I made it through the week without touching the weights. I needed the rest. I am looking for to next week. I’ve changed my workout plan and I’m also adding a 5th day. I believe in doing full body workouts. Most serious lifters don’t. I always say it takes a man to do a full body workout. I actually on do twice a week now, instead of 3 times. I do light weight high rep on Monday to get bak in the swing of things after a 72hr rest. Tuesday is legs, Thursday is back, Friday is full body with heavy weight supersets, and next week I’ll be adding Saturday for arms. No I don’t worry about overtraining and I’m able to hit most muscles 3 or four times a week instead of once. I’ll be posting this workout soon.
Now I’m also excited about the new supplements I’ll be starting next week. I can’t believe I made an order Wed. at 11:30 a.m. and it arrive Thurs 8 a.m. That’s the quickest ever. Big ups to bb.com! I’m still waiting on a few for supplements that I ordered from somewhere else because of the price, which should arrive around Mon. BB.com is still #1 for supplements, but every now and then I find stuff cheaper so I have to do what I gotta do.
Finally, I should have progression pics up around mid Feb. I’ll also tell what I think about my new supplements.

I decided to this week off. I don’t like missing workouts. It is said you should take a week off ever so often. To me it’s an excuse to be a sorry ass. I do need the rest though. I took time off late October because I was sick. Other than that it’s been about six or seven months. Next week I’ll be started a new workout with all new supplements. I can’t wait!
