Happy Birthday to me!

My niece called me today to wish me a happy birthday and stated that I was just going over the 40 mark, I was like "Not quite true, I did that last yr!! LOL

No doubt about it, im 40something and proud of it!

This is a Woo Whoo to all of the 40something and proud of it women/gurls/ladies!!!!! Who Whooo!!!

Hanging tough and proud!  :)!

Still Ok…

It’s round 4:00 pm and I have done my am cardio (Taebo cardio), I ate 4 egg whites and oats, feeling good. I sat down to get my calories for 2day, checked to see what Oprah is about DR. OZ!!! I love that guy!!!! I still have to get my weights in tho.

I can do some bicep curls and tricep kickbacks, hammer curls etc while watching this guy. My DVD recorder isnt working, if it was I would record this and go.

Oh, I didnt run for an hour but that taebo was just as good and I may do more later this evening.

Cycle or Psycho?

Ok, No secret, Us women all have it and im being blunt about mine. My cycle started last night. About a week b4 my cycle I usually bloat and start freaking bout my diet and workout (thinking it’s not working), well thats bcuz I wasnt listening or getting to know my body (What a shame). Knowing your body is a must especially if your’e going to be working with your body.

How can you work with something successfully if you dont have knowledge bout it. well… My diet has been sooo good and I started to work on doing the Zig-zag method and was loving that, Ok Saturday was a long day for me, I did pack food but not quite enough (big mistake). I went bout 5-6 hours without eating so when it was time I whuffed down a whopper then went home and ate cashews and some doritos (belong to my kids), Ok I got over it I thought then the next day I wanted more cashews, ate them all day, that was Sunday well yesterday I REALLY DONE IT!! I WENT THERE!! I had crunch n munch, a few whoppers (chocolate), I ate on that most of the evening til I was sick literally.

I decided that I would not eat anything at work last night, I only had protein drinks and water. I also decided that I would run for an hour for the rest of this week. I dont know, I started thinking that All the time I was doing great with my diet, no cravings, didnt miss my chocolate and Wham!! Smack in the face!! So I decided that it may have been my hormones since it was time for my cycle.

Am I tripping? Is this possible? Is this just an excuse? Does anyone else go through this and if so what is your strategy for this?

I think Im ok now, it’s the morning after, Im just in from work and I feel ok, I had a cup of green tea and 3 boiled egg whites. I dont want this to happen next month, I have got to prepare for this. I was doing to daag good!

Morning cardio…

Woke up this morning not wanting to get out of bed but  I HAD TO!  :(

I had to go to the gym for my AM cardio, 1hr incline on the treadmil.

I got dressed, pulled myself out of my stupor and headed to the gym! Got to the gym, hopped on a treadmil and done what I needed to do!

Started out at 2.5 speed on a 15% incline, did that for 5 minutes then went to 3.0 speed for 5 minutes then up to 3.5, ok, i struggled for a minute ok I struggled for 3 minutes but after 5 minutes i knew in my mind that i would get a little relief when i went back down to 3.0 wheew and im just starting. At the end of my 2nd intreval of this i was looking for that same relief hah! didnt happen.. heart rate did go down but i was still in zone 5. There are 5 zones on the HR monitor and at one point when i looked at the monitor i was at 5.6 and i know at some points it was higher as was my HR. I was aching for the relief that i got once i decreased my speed but didnt get it. I huffed and puffed hoping that no one heard me, hoping that everyone was wearing ear plugs but i was too exausted to look around. I had to do some serious self talking to stay on that treadmil and not take the speed or incline down, had to think of then fine sleek body that i was pushing so hard for, was thinking of Dawn Melanie telling me you ain’t doing nothing unless you’re sweating your butt off and wanting to get off of that machine.

I wasn’t gonna let that treadmil kick my butt no matter how hard it tried. I hung in there and completed my workout (yeah!). Dawn, Just please dont tell me add more time yet, I dont know if i could take it!!%$# LOL LOL But I would have to you know, cant let the machine kick my butt.

SNBF …

Ok, It’s after 6:00 pm my time and I just got in from a SNBF (Super Natural Bodybuilding Figure) show, I wanted to check those women out. They were tough, they had it going on! Im thinking about doing one of those shows, not sure yet.

 I didnt get a morning cardio workout in and today is a rest day but I like oops NEED to do some cardio. I will try to do something later, Im tired….

Ok, I decide to blog this year contest prep. I have never done this so here goes!

This morning or shall I say, evening (2:30pm) which is my morn as I work 3rd shift. I hopped on my treadmil for 35 minutes on a 10%incline speed at 3.5.

Getting ready to head to the gym for my shoulder workout then more cardio.

This year I want to go in leaner than last years show which means more cardio for me.
