…so goes part of the Army’s "Soldier’s Creed". It’s a good phrase to repeat when you are thinking of reasons not to hit the gym. I’ll try it the next time 1630 rolls by and the end of the day formation is over and everyone is talking about Grey Goose and Patron. I am currently doing day on-day off ops at FT Hood. Not bad duty either. No excuse not to hit the iron. My brethren in SW Asia are dealing with much more than I am at this moment, and they hit the iron everyday they can, tired or not. So this Negro (yeah, I said it) gotta get physically and mentally tough, quit bs-ing and do my thing in the gym. There are at least six on post to go to. Get sweatty. Get pumped. That is, whenever I finish my PT test…

I am in the middle of a bb break cuz of upcoming PT test and also to rest my shoulders. Whenever I had started benchpresses, my shoulders would scream, no matter how much I warmed up. Had just recovered from golfer’s elbow injury bout 4 months ago and didn’t want to reaggravate that either. Still running 3+ miles every other day and bike in between the run days. Eat protein bar afterward to maintain muscle. Can’t wait to get this test over with so I can get back to lifting. Going into depression…j/k.

It has been hard the last week or so. I started back working, fresh off of leave. It is a challenge working in regular army PT sessions with weightlifting in the afternoons. Some times I just end up going home instead of the gym. Usually, once I leave post, that is it. Im not coming back, that’s family time. It’s also time to TRY to prepare for the next day. It is not that bad yet, because our unit is doing absolutely nothing during the day. I’m always thinking about some time to sneak away to the gym, usually after lunch. I don’t eat heavy. Anyway, I managed to hit all my bodypart in three days AND give my all during PT. I will go into the details of my usual routine later. Get crunk….
