Hello, it’s Saturday July 28th….I have one week until I compete. No not a body building competition, but a Masters Track and Field National meet in Orono, Maine. This is track and field for those over 30 years old.
April 27 I vowed to lose unwanted body fat after a piss-poor performance in front of 20,000 people at the Penn Relays. Being big for walking around and sprinting the 100 and 200 meters are not a good recipe for success. I got off the creatine, got strict on the food choices, upped the cardio and cut down the weight/added high reps. Result: 24 pounds lighter, 5% body fat and my hamstrings and lower back are loving it. Also, my times have dropped dramatically.
Last year at the Charlotte, NC Nationals I got the bronze in the 100M dash and it left a bad taste in my mouth. The meet will be live on http://www.sportnet.com/ August 2-5. I will run in the 40M age group, both the 100 and 200m dashes. As soon as the meet is over I am loading up on a fat steak, a loaded potato and a fresh cherry cheesecake!
