My Parents frustrate the S@#t out of me
So this may be a bit of a rant, but if anyone has had problems like this I’d appreciate the input. Let me first say that up until 10 years ago there was no real history of cancer in my family. Then both my grandparents on my father’s side died from cancer. My Dad’s aunt is now going through cancer treatment, and my dad had a non cancerous growth in his lungs that made them remove 1/2 of his left lung. So about a year ago my parents joined a gym. Yay for them right?? Well yay for my Mom. My Dad, the one w/ 3/4 of his lung capacity, sits there and lies to the trainer about his fitness level and doesn’t ever use any of the years worth of personal training sessions they bought because he knows what he needs to do. Which is use 3 machines and not push himself on cardio. And what’s worse is that he still smokes like a chimney and neither him or my mom see anything wrong with this. I am really at my wits end about these 2. Thanks for letting me vent.

Yup. I love how the unhealthiest think they know best. I guess he thinks if he’s walking and talking despite smoking and having half a lung, then he must be doing something right, LOL.
I’ve learned that you can’t change them, so the frustration is wasted energy.

Thanks. I guess I need to just let it go. My sister says she’s not going to waste her breath and that the limited time we get to spend w/ them shouldn’t be spent fighting about this.

My mom bitches about the way she looks often. I told her to use our home gym a month ago and I still haven’t seen here (well, for a workout anyway). Every time I get sick she tells me it’s because I workout too much and restrict foods in my diet. WTF?

Because you work out too much??? That’s a new one for me.
