Felt good today.  I upped my dosage of Super Test and could really tell the difference.  I actually knocked out 8 reps w/ good form of BB Curls @ 90 lbs.  I’ve hit 90 before, but with a lot of swinging.

Turkey Day Diet

Hmmm.  Not that bad I guess.  Eggs and roasted potatoes for breakfast.  Sushi and a protein shake for lunch.  Snacked on the veggie tray at the in-laws and only had a sample of the food I brought (feta torte and bacon wrapped dates).  Lots of turkey at dinner and a spoon full of mashed taters and cornbread dressing.  Overall I’m pretty proud of myself.

Diet/Food Intake for 11/25

So it feels like I’m constantly eating.  Especially at work where stopping every 2 hours or so to throw down food or a protein shake is hard.  I get started on a project and it’s like time flys and 2 hours is gone in no time.  I’m making an effort though.  I know that on a massing program you actually have to be at a caloric surpluss.

Pre workout-  Supps and a protein bar

Post workout/Breakfast- Whey shake and rolled oats

Mid morning- whey shake and almonds

lunch- smoothie w/ whey protien

mid afternoon- tuna and steamed veggies (love the microwave steamer veggies)

Dinner- Turkey sloppy joes & green beans

Bed time snack- cottage cheese & yogurt

I think I’m looking pretty good.  I’ve moved my cottage cheese from a mid morning snack to right at bed time at the suggestion of some of the forum people.  I just can’t get over how many times I’m eating during the day.

Today @ the Gym

Started my bulking routine today.  I’m using the Bill Starr 5 x 5 as outlined by Madcow over in the forums.  I’m using the Advanced Spreadsheet and I’ve kind of tweaked to to hit PR’s in week 3 as opposed to week 4 and I changed Incline Presses to Military Presses.
Squat:  5 x 196

Bench: 5 x 149, 161, 172, 184, 196

Rows:  5x 103, 112, 120, 128, 136

Felt Great so I added a couple of isolation exercises:

DB Side Laterals? 30 lbs x 8 (3 sets)

DB Shrugs:  90 lbs x 8 (3 sets)

Leg Press Calves:  270 lbs x 20 (3 sets), 180 x 20

I’m looking at throwing in some HIIT and Abs on my off days (Tuesday & Thursday)

Breakfast:  Protein Shake and 1/2 cup rolled oatmeal.

Slowly but surely

My weekend diet is moving towards something that resembles the weekday diet.  This morning was a breakfast of burritos.  3 egg whites, 1 whole egg, turkey sausage and a little shredded cheddar in whole wheat tortillas.  Having a grilled chx salad for lunch, and lean beef burgers for dinner.  I need to figure out how to work 2 more small meals in.

5 x 5 Starts Monday

My 2 & 1/2 month bulking journey starts Monday.  I’ll be taking before, midway, and after photos to share.  I’ll also be keeping a journal in the forums.

As far as diet on this deal, I’m still struggling with the idea of caloric excess.  I know you have to eat a ton of calories on a bulk, but as someone who’s been fat forever it kind of goes against all my preconceptions.  I’ll get over it.  I cycled off all of my supps for the last week and a half to make sure I’m receptive to them through out the entire cycle.  Wish me luck.

Wii Fit

So we got a Wii this weekend.  It’s our Christmas gift to the house.  I figure I have an 18 month old, one on the way, and a wife who hasn’t played video games since Super Mario Bros.  So the Wii was the best fit.  Games are kind of kiddish, no GTA, and the controls are somewhat simple.  Well we also bought a Wii Fit.  Interesting little gadget.  So I get on, put in all my stats and it tells me I’m obese.  Thanks alot A-hole.  I’m just joking the mirror tells me that daily.  But seriously the workouts are a little tougher than I thought they’d be.  Nothing over the top, but they’ll make you break a sweat.
