Sqatted 225 lbs 10 reps!!!!

225 lbs for 10 reps is awesome for my little legs :) I remember a few months ago when getin 10 reps w/ 185 lbs was a big accomplishment. I make sure to go deep, so it’s taken me some time to get the #’s up with my squats… not to mention the fact that I didn’t start training legs until last July 2006… LOL!

Anyway, the past few weeks I’ve been gettin 6-7 reps with 225 lbs, and then I watched Pumping Iron the other day and it got me all amped to get bigger, so I decided I was gonna squat until I failed. I really need to start pushin my legs like I push my back and chest.

I was all pissed goin into the gym b/c I had to wait in a stupid long line to get a parking permit for school  and I got a stinkin parking ticket while in the darn place!!! Anyway, I remembered the part where that dude in Pumping Iron squatted til he dropped, and I got all amped and said to my self I’m gettin 10 reps! And, I freakin did it! When I got to 8, which is the best that I’ve ever done, I said "I still got more!" I went down and commin up was tough… I breathed out and unfortunately let out a little scream… I said to myself, "There’s no way i’m not gettin this 10th one now… even if I have to sit in this rack I’m goin for it!"… down and then back up… I let out another bit of a scream, and BLAMMO!!!! I had done 10 reps with 225 lbs!

It felt darn good :)

P.S. I then did 2 sets w/ 245 lbs and then my last set was with 185 lbs… I also was supersetting squats w/ leg presses :) My legs are gonna be hurtin tomorrow!

Today I trained with these two animals who I’ve trained with a few times the past couple months. Thes guys lift soooooooooooo freakin heavy and they look like monsters. They’re both very impressive strength and appearance wise. Anyway, everytime I train with them they push me to my full potential - making me go as heavy as I can - they spot me and make me go when I think I’m done or make me try a weight that I don’t think I can do. Anyway, look at this workout I did with them yelling and screaming at me today…

Flat bench - warm up 135 lbs/185 lbs 5/5 reps

225 lbs 7 reps

255 lbs 6 reps

275 lbs 4 reps - rest 10 seconds - 2 more reps

315 lbs 4 reps

355 lbs 2 reps - I went for a 3rd rep and my arms gave out.

365 lbs 2 reps

 

Incline bench

135 lbs 10 reps

185 lbs 8 reps

225 lbs 4 reps

225 lbs 4 reps - 4th was pretty much forced

 

Flat flyes

50 lbs - 7, 6, 4 reps

 

That’s it, but it took a long time b/c all 3 of us were working in with eachother.

So, I’m very happy that even though they were spotting me I was still doing a lot of the work on those extremely heavy sets. They were very impressed and shocked that I handled the 315 as well as I did… that’s why they made me try 355 and then 365. I would never attempt to lift 315 lbs by myself or even with another person spotting me. These guys just pump me up and they are good spotters. It was an awesome workout though… benching weight that heavy feels amazing and the pumps were really good since it was so fricken heavy :)

I think really my max bench is only 275 lbs, but it was cool to work with the heavy weight and get my body and mind used to the extremely heavy weight.

Bascially I was just all excited b/c those #’s are freakin insane for my size and weight… I mean 365 lbs is 210 lbs more than my body weight!!!!  

Good times :)

Some day I’ll put up 315 lbs with out a spotter… not anytime soon, but someday :)   

Set me some new goals :)

I decided to set some new goals, and so I did :)

I’m around 152-154 lbs now and will most likely start clean bulking soon… definitely by Sept. I figure if I can put on at least 1 lb of muscle a month then Sept. - Aug. I’ll be 11 lbs of muscle heavier putting me at 163-165 lbs. I put 165 lbs as my goal… I think I can do it. Maybe I’ll even be able to get a couple months of 2 lbs of muscle gain :) Also, I know that I can get over 165 lbs easily by and most likely well before Aug. but my goal is to be same body fat as I am now (5-7% bf ?) and 165 lbs by Aug. 1, 2008. 

My other goal is to get my arms up from 14.75 in to at least 15.75 in. This too I think is something that I can make happen. My arms grew about an inch or more over the past year or so; I’m hopin for the same this year. I think at 15.75 my arms will look better. I’m thinking that at my height 17 in would be the biggest I want my arms to be. 17 in might even be too big, but I got a long while til that day comes :)

Anyway, those are my top priorities from Sept. to this time next Aug., as far as body building goes.

I just got my body fat tested w/ calipers… it’s the 3 site method, and I know I’m actually higher, but I’m 5.1% body fat according to that method!!!! :)

I’m so happy that I acheived my goal! My goal was to be 5-6% bf w/ calipers and that’s exactly what I am and I did it in the time frame that I set out! It feels good to have done it.

June 1st I was exactly 161.8 lbs bf? - probably 10% w/ calipers… now exactly 8.5 weeks later Aug. 1st I’m 152.4 lbs 5.1% bf.

I’m just feelin good about it all! Like I said, I know I’m not actually 5% bf, but I’m so happy w/ my progress. The # is only another way of tracking my progress.

My abs went down the most - from 12 to 8. My chest only went down from a 4 to a 3. My thigh finally went from a 10 to an 8!!! My legs took forever to budge… their definition is still the weakest, but they have got some separation now - that makes me pretty happy too.

So, I guess I’ll be starting my journey to get BIG again soon :)    

I got me some Body Fat Calipers…

So, I tried doin it to my self, and I took the measurements several times. I went on some site - if you google "body fat tracker" or "body fat calculator" the site will come up… it’s linear-somethin or other. Anyway, I did the 7 site method  - Subscapular, Suprailic, Abs, Chest, Thigh, Midaxillary, and Tricep… I think the back and tricep were the hardest to get an accurate reading - more so the tricep than the back though. Anyway, I put my readings into the website and hit calculate and it came back sayin I’m like 5.75% body fat :) That’s pretty awesome. I know I’m not that low guys so please don’t yell at me and tell me I’m not that low - I know I am not. But, I am making progress :) The last time I got measured w/ the 3 fold method by a trainer at my gym we put my readings into this site and it said I was 6.4% bf - that was 2-3 weeks ago, so I’m doin alright. Plus, I’m figuring that I’m 7% bf and the calipers even say that they are 1% off of under water testing which would put me around 7% bf w/ that 5.75% reading (+1% = 6.75%). So, I guess I did it somewhat right by myself.

So, I’m very very happy, b/c my goal of bein 5% bf w/ calipers on Aug. 3rd is probably gonna happen :) I’m guessing to actually be 5% bf I’d need the calipers to say I’m 3-4%, ehh? That’s cool. I’m just happy that I’m losing body fat and actually gaining strength in the gym! I think I’ll feel comfortable on the beach in Aug. :)

Making progress :)

So, I was stuck at 156.4 - 156.8 lbs for about 2 weeks or maybe longer. Then 1.5 weeks ago I started taking Anabolic Pump and Animal Cuts 2x a day. Also, I started some intervals in my morning cardio too. Now just this week yesterday I weighed in at 155.0 lbs and then this morning 154.4 lbs!!!!!! My strength has been increasing too - even though I’m cutting! i’m feelin pretty good, and I’m very happy that I’m startin to show abs even when fully relaxed! I’m feeling confident that I’ll reach my goal by Aug. I mean even if I’m not technically 5% bf - my ultimate goal is to have good definition without flexing, and I’m gettin close now! Also, I want the caliper test to say I’m 5% bf, b/c that will be the lowest it’s ever said I was. I know that the calipers are usually lower than what I am. Anyway, if I actually get to 5% for real that’s sweet too, but my real goals of lookin lean and having the silly calipers say I’m 5% bf are close now. I really think I’m gonna do it :)

I just did a calculator on here and it said my LBM is 144 lbs. So, does that mean that with absolutely no fat on me I’d be 144 lbs? Does anybody understand what LBM is exactly? And, how many lbs of fat equal 1 bf% - like is 2 lbs lost 1% bf or how does that work? Any help is always appreciated, guys and gals! Thanks :)

Alright I’m very happy w/ my bf% reading w/ the calipers…

7.9% bf

What the ???!!!

Ok. This is where it get’s crazy…

3/30/07 151.0 lbs 7.9% bf

Chest - 5
Thigh - 10
Abs - 10

6/15/07 (11 weeks later) 158.8 lbs 7.9% bf = +7.8 lbs of muscle

Chest - 4
Thigh - 10
Abs - 12

So, I’ve got a bit of fat on my abs that I need to lose to be the exact same, but my chest is lower and my thigh’s the same. So, I put on 7.8 lbs of muscle in 11 weeks. That means I put on close to 3 lbs of muscle a month!!! I have come to understand that that’s humanly impossible with out steroids… what the heck is going on here?

I wouldn’t lie. I’ve got nothing to gain from it. I’m very very very happy, but sooooooooooo confused! I mean I’ve been training for over a year now and have never seen muscle gains like this on myself yet! And, I wasn’t supplimenting with anything that’s said to help with muscle gains! Wll, my supps were:

Carbo Gain (1 scoop), Xtend (2 scoops), 4 scoops of whey, 3 fish oil pills, 2 multi vitamins, 2 glutamine pills… that’s it!

2 weeks ago I was 161.8 lbs and I don’t know my bf% w/ calipers from then but I’m guessing I was 10%. So, now at 158.8 lbs (-3 lbs) I’m 2% bf lower? Does that mean that I gained muscle while I lost fat over the last 2 weeks? Or was I just leaner than I thought at the start of my cut? I mention this b/c I’m wondering if the CLA possibly did what it claims to do - 1. Speed up the metabolism; 2. Increase lean mass; 3. Burn fat.

Anyway, the main thing that blows my mind is the muscle gain - 7.8 lbs in 11 weeks! It’s pretty much too good to be true.

Well any thoughts would be cool. And please don’t accuse me of lying or using anything illegal, b/c I’m not lying - I’ve got absolutely no reason to lie about something like this, and I will never use steroids unless they were said to not be unhealthy and they were legalized. No disrespect to any Christian bodybuilders who use steroids, but I believe it’s not pleasing to God to do things that are illegal, and it is a poor witness for Christ’s sake.

New Cutting Suppliment Plan

Alright, so I’m gonna give Cuts and M Stak a try. My plan of action will be as follows:

Take CLA and coffee 2x a day until 6/18. Then on 6/19 I will take Cuts in AM before cardio, and I’ll take M Stak before weights at 1 PM until 7/12… I won’t be taking M Stak on Sundays - it’s my off days, but I will take Cuts 2x on Sundays. Then I will take Dialene 4 2x a day from 7/13 to 8/2. I’ll then have 9 days left where I can take Cuts 2x a day, but I will be goin on vacation I believe on the 5th of Aug. I will probably just take a rest from the fat burners, since I’ll be breaking from my diet for a week, and also not weight training. I won’t gain too much fat b/c I plan on not eating too bad, and I will be surfing and walking around all day long, so I’ll be burning plenty. When I get back I’ll finish off the Cuts and my cut hopefully won’t last too much longer after that anyway.

I’m excited to see if these suppliments do what they’re supposed to, and if they really attribute to any fat loss!

Also, through out my cutting I will decrease calories every 3-4 weeks, and will be increasing the intensity of the cardio every 2 weeks.

Any thoughts brothers and sisters?

Cutting suppliment idea… any thoughts all you helpful people?

Hey anbody willing to reply, 

How’s this sound:

Right now I’m just taking CLA and coffee twice a day this will last 15 days (I’m already 4 days in). Then I plan on takin Dialene 4, which will last 20 days I believe. Then I figured I’d have 7 days of just coffee - maybe twice or 3x a day, and then I’d start Animal Cuts. After 6 days I’d start CLA again with the Cuts and coffee for 15 days. At that point I’d be going on vacation for 7 days, so the cut would stop for a week. I’d then decide if my cut would continue and if I’d want another fat burner or CLA again.

Whatta ya guys think of that plan?

Please reply if you have any advice and/or opinions/suggestions!
