I got me some Body Fat Calipers…
Saturday, July 14th, 2007So, I tried doin it to my self, and I took the measurements several times. I went on some site - if you google "body fat tracker" or "body fat calculator" the site will come up… it’s linear-somethin or other. Anyway, I did the 7 site method - Subscapular, Suprailic, Abs, Chest, Thigh, Midaxillary, and Tricep… I think the back and tricep were the hardest to get an accurate reading - more so the tricep than the back though. Anyway, I put my readings into the website and hit calculate and it came back sayin I’m like 5.75% body fat
That’s pretty awesome. I know I’m not that low guys so please don’t yell at me and tell me I’m not that low - I know I am not. But, I am making progress
The last time I got measured w/ the 3 fold method by a trainer at my gym we put my readings into this site and it said I was 6.4% bf - that was 2-3 weeks ago, so I’m doin alright. Plus, I’m figuring that I’m 7% bf and the calipers even say that they are 1% off of under water testing which would put me around 7% bf w/ that 5.75% reading (+1% = 6.75%). So, I guess I did it somewhat right by myself.
So, I’m very very happy, b/c my goal of bein 5% bf w/ calipers on Aug. 3rd is probably gonna happen
I’m guessing to actually be 5% bf I’d need the calipers to say I’m 3-4%, ehh? That’s cool. I’m just happy that I’m losing body fat and actually gaining strength in the gym! I think I’ll feel comfortable on the beach in Aug.
