Complete Rest and Recuperation is JUST AS IMPORTANT as Weight Train

Many bodybuilders don’t let the body parts they’ve trained fully recover  and recuperate before training that body part again.

Some bodybuilders mistakenly believe that if they  get more workouts in every week for a each body part, they’ll get better results  that much faster. Although I certainly admire this kind of ambition, it’s not  going to propel them forward like they think. In fact, this approach will set  them back. Exhibiting less effort will actually produce a better outcome than  all of that work.

Rest and recuperation from each workout is probably  the most important, yet most-often neglected component for effectively building  muscle. Rest and recuperation means allowing your muscles to fully recover after  each and every intense workout. Only when your muscles have fully recuperated  can they be blasted again with weights. That is, of course, if you expect to  build muscle in the most effective manner. You certainly can train a body part  before it has fully recovered—but that’s not going to produce the best results.  You are really just wasting a lot of time and effort. You must wait until the  muscle heals from the trauma you’ve caused.

Besides experiencing better  muscle recovery, your training will get better. When you train each body part  less frequently, you will have more strength during each body part workout. If  you successfully overload the muscles with heavier weight, you will stimulate  more growth over time.

Take Action and Do This NOW!

Remember that more is not necessarily better. Let the muscle groups  fully recover before you blast them again. Train each body part no more than two  times a week—and even two times will be a stretch if you train naturally and  with true intensity.

Bodybuilding Contest Preparation SECRETS: Dealing With the Uncertainty of Contest Preparation

I don’t care how many bodybuilding contests that you’ve entered in your life, you will inevitably encounter at least some degree of uncertainty that the strategies you’ve chosen are the “right” strategies. Relax! That’s all part of the game, so to speak.

It’s easy to understand why you’d feel uncertain at times during the long, involved contest preparation process. There are so many strategies out there to choose from as you prepare for your show, right? And, doesn’t it seem as though everyone wants to offer you their advice on what you should be doing and should not be doing–whether you asked for their advice or not?

With so many different directions to go, how can you possibly know for sure that the path you’ve chosen is the right path? You’ve invested far too much time and effort in your contest preparation to be going about things in the wrong way, right?

The truth of the matter is that you can never really know for sure if your hard work will payoff in the way you want it to. But, is there guaranteed success for any endeavor you take on in life? And if there was, how fun would the process be if you knew for sure how things would end up?

The first thing you must do is choose a good teacher, role model, or coach. Make sure you have enough faith in who they are and what they are all about. That will makes things a little easier when their strategies are challenged by articles you may read or “experts” you may come across during your contest preparation.

Then, you must give the strategies you decided to use your consistent and very best effort. Remember, just about every strategy can be effective if enough effort is poured into it.

You must stick to your plan once you’ve decided upon it. Switching back and forth from one strategy to another will accomplish nothing. Even if you do “succeed” you really won’t know which philosophy contributed your success. Another unfortunate thing about switching back and forth between different strategies is the knowledge you’ll rob yourself of attaining to become better in the future. You’ll find yourself with the same degree of uncertainty the next time you prepare for a contest unless you really work your plan until its conclusion.

You must learn to exhibit faith and patience while on your contest journey. No matter how things turn out, you’ll be better off over time by sticking to your plan and learning the pros and cons associated with it through your own personal experience–not by what others might tell you. Look, I know that everyone out there claims to be an expert and wants to thrust advice upon you but, to be honest, no one really comes close to caring about your success and failure as much as you do. So they give you some bad information? What do they care? It’s not their time and hard work that will be compromised!

Uncertainty during your contest preparation is a very common way of feeling–even for a competitive bodybuilder at my level. You must control your emotions and learn how to effectively deal with this emotion because it will never go away.

Chalk up your uncertainty to your tremendous desire to be your very best when you finally step on stage. Don’t view the uncertainty you experience along your journey as a weakness. Instead, you should see it as one of your most empowering strengths!

Session One
Establishing an EMPOWERING Mindset Before You Even Start Your Contest Preparation Journey
(2 hours and 3 minutes)
Do you have the mindset of a bodybuilding contest CHAMPION? Or, the mindset of someone who will do “okay”? My first task on my way toward helping you become your very best—before I do anything else—is to make certain that you have the mindset of a CHAMPION. Your success—or failure—will weigh heavily on your mindset!

Your rules, beliefs, values, and standards will dictate you well you execute during your bodybuilding contest preparation journey. The challenge that the vast majority of bodybuilding competitors face is that they never even take inventory of them; never think how and why they were established; never track back to where they got them in the first place (and how credible that source was); and never evaluate them to see if they are indeed true.

Your “rules” are you opinions of what you think is possible and impossible; important and unimportant; true and untrue when it comes to your contest preparation. Your beliefs are significantly stronger than your rules. Those will be difficult to change unless they are really broken down and explained.

What you believe to be true—is indeed true. At least for YOU it is. I make certain that you have the most empowering rules and beliefs when it comes to contest preparation—or you will be doomed from the start! I VALIDATE the rules and beliefs that will help you become the very best you can be on contest day—and DEMOLISH the ones that will limit what you can accomplish.

The competitor who has the highest standards throughout his contest preparation journey will get the closest to being his VERY BEST on contest day. I make sure that your standards on what you demand of yourself are high enough to get you where you really want to go.

We all need to make CHOICES in our lives. The choices you make on your contest preparation journey and how you prioritize what is important to you are called your “values.” You will determine your values—but I instruct on the values you will need to become your very best when the contest day arrives.

I then take you through a series of interactive EXERCISES that will set the most empowering rules, beliefs, values, and standards in “concrete” so you will be off to an awesome start.

This is the foundation to greatness. Your mental foundation has to be rock-solid. And, I challenge the way you currently think to make certain your foundation is rock-solid.

The MENTAL RECONSTRUCTION that takes during this session is a tremendously important first step. Without a solid foundation, all of the very best strategies in the world that I present to you will NOT even accepted in the first place—let alone execute! Be ready to come to this session with an OPEN MIND.

Session Two
An All-Encompassing Overview of Your Entire Contest Preparation Journey
(2 hours and 22 minutes)

When you “Begin with the end if mind” with anything you want to accomplish, you will be more like to execute EVERYTHING you must do to become your very best on contest day. You will maximize your POWER during every single set; repetition; weight training workout; cardiovascular training session; meal; minute; hour; day; week; and month of your contest preparation journey. You will be physically, mentally, emotionally, and psychologically prepared for ANYTHING that will challenge you along your journey (And, you WILL be challenged).

I outline—in great detail—the physical (weight training; cardiovascular training; dieting; etc.), mental (striving for more; staying focused; locking onto your contest day vision; etc.), emotional (dealing with the ups and downs along the way; the disconnection with people that you may face; remembering why you are putting yourself through this challenge; etc), and psychological (overcoming self-doubt; overcoming self-sabotage; keeping things in the right perspective; staying in control and living in your reality; etc) CHALLENGES that you will face along your journey.

I tell you EXACTLY what is ahead of you. Then you, through a series of exercises, make DECISIONS as to exactly how you will handle them—long before they ever arise. You will DECIDE on what you will and will NOT do when those challenges arise during this session! Of course, I give you directives on the BEST way to handle those challenges.

With my guidance, you begin to establish “Daily Disciplines” or standards and tasks that you will strive to EXECUTE every single day—no matter what challenges you face—to become the very best competitor you can be. These disciplines include things like your meals; meal times; how much water you drink; training performance; posing practice; goal-setting; self-assessment; picture-taking, how many times you review what I’ve taught you on the mp3 audio files; and much more.

Session Three
Training and Eating Like a Champion During EVERY Single Phase of Your Contest Preparation
(2 hours and 40 minutes)

During this session, I get very specific about the training and nutritional strategies that will make you your very best when your show arrives.

I outline in great detail exactly what you must do every step along the way when it comes to your habits in the gym and with the way you eat. From off-season strategies; 20 weeks out; 12 weeks out; the final critical week; the day of the show; all the way up until the minute you step on stage.

During this session, I explain HOW you will train and eat at certain periods of time; HOW MUCH you will train and eat at certain periods of time; WHEN you will train and eat a certain way and at certain periods of time; and WHY you will train and eat a certain way at certain periods of time. I provide you with many different examples, charts, and graphs that you will use to create your own plan.

This is the session when all the planning gets done. You benefit greatly during your journey because all of the time and effort you put in during this session. You only need to put in the physical effort and keep your head on straight from that point on.

Session Four
The Final Week of Contest Preparation; Presenting Yourself Like a Champion On Stage
(2 hours and 23 minutes)

Many competitive bodybuilders mistakenly believe that the “final week” of contest preparation is when you “make it or break it.” That’s a “belief” that I totally DEMOLISH by the time we get to this session. In fact, I instill in you the belief that you are “bullet proof” because of all of the intelligent, efficient, effective, and hard work you’ve invested into your preparation.

The final week, however, is indeed important—especially when it comes to you being certain and confident about what you are going to be doing.

During this session, I devote a significant amount of time explaining in great detail the final critical week of contest preparation. I explain everything you need to do in the gym and everything that will enter your body (food; amount of food; types of food; water; minerals; supplements; etc). Of course, I explain exactly how, why, and when you will do all of this.

I also explain exactly what you must do to present yourself like a champion on stage. I break down the mindset and attitude that you must have to put the “finishing touches” on the physique that you’ve worked so long and hard to create.

Are You REALLY Focusing in the Gym? Maybe It’s Time to Raise Your Standards

Many Bodybuilders Don’t Concentrate While They Are in the Gym (But Think They Do)

Many bodybuilders don’t understand how important it is to concentrate in the gym. They visit with other people in the gym between sets and often postpone doing their next set because of lingering conversations. Yet these people training in the gym in this manner believe these conversations have absolutely no negative effects on their training performance.

If you had an important presentation at work or a test in school, how well would you do if you stopped and talked about another subject every five minutes? Do you really think you’d deliver that presentation just as well stopping and starting as you would with uninterrupted concentration? Do you really think you’d do just as well on your test talking about other things as you would if you just put your head down and focused until you were finished? Of course you wouldn’t do as well with all of the interruptions.

Take Action and Do this NOW

One hour is all you need to invest into your workouts. One hour of concentration a session is all you need to ask from yourself. One hour workouts for at the most five days a week is all you need to get you closer to your bodybuilding goals. Focus during that one hour. Make your training sessions a productive “Hour of Power.”

Don’t use the time between sets to let your mind wander or engage in conversations that will distract you. Use the time to refocus yourself on your training so you can lift the most weight with the best execution possible on your next set. Many Bodybuilders Are Influenced by Negative People in the Gym

“Most people’s lives are a direct reflection of the standards of the people around them. Who you spend time with is who you become,” preaches Anthony Robbins.

If you hang around people who are optimistic that their training endeavors will eventually pay off if they are intelligent and patient enough, you will become more optimistic, more intelligent, and more patient too. If your training partners believe it is truly possible to build a respectable physique without the use of drugs, the chances are very good you will adopt that same belief.

Conversely, if you are in the company of people who expect very little from themselves and their training, you will be more apt to be satisfied with the level of training you are currently experiencing. If the guys in the gym feel that anyone with a good physique “has to be” on drugs, you won’t always be able to suppress that belief when you hit a plateau in your development.

Take Action and Do this NOW!

Look for opportunities at the gym to train beside and converse with those who have earned good physiques, demonstrate admirable work ethics, and exude positive attitudes. Complicated Eating Plans Are WORTHLESS If You Do Not Follow Through!

Some Bodybuilders Create Eating Plans That Are Too Difficult to  Follow

You’ll see  this blunder when bodybuilders make their nutritional programs far too complex.  They make their diets so complicated that they oftentimes don’t follow  through.

Here’s the challenge:

“I rotate chicken, tuna, and beef every other day for my protein sources. I  alternate my carbohydrate intake to low, moderate, and high levels in three day,  four-day and five day splits. I always eat brown rice instead of white rice.  And, I make sure I wake up in the middle of the night to drink a protein shake.  I have a great plan—but my problem is that I don’t always follow through.”

Keep your diet simple. Have you ever known people who always asking  themselves “What am I going to eat for dinner tonight?” Some people put a lot of  thought and effort just deciding what foods they are going to enjoy during a  future meal. In my opinion, doing so makes the eating process far too  complicated. The more complicated you make your nutritional program, the more  difficult you’ll make it to follow through with.

Just because a diet is simple doesn’t mean it’s not effective. During the  week, I intentionally keep my meals plain and simple. I don’t get too fancy or  complicated when it comes to eating. During this time, the main purpose for  eating is to grow muscle and keep my body fat levels manageable. If I decide to  relax at all with my habits, it will be during the weekends.

The less thinking and extra planning you have to do when it comes to feeding  yourself properly the better. Try to look at eating as merely a method to build  quality muscle, fuel great workouts, and keep your body lean and looking good—at  least during your work or school week. If you need more variety or flexibility,  have it on the weekends only.
