Monday, October 30th, 2006

If you want to create a totally magnificent journey that you’ll remember your entire life, all you have to do is make sure that at the end of every day you’ve performed significantly better than the day before. That’s it. Pretty simple, huh?

To even know if you are accomplishing this every day (or even getting close), you’ll need to track, monitor, and assess your progress.

A Way to Guarantee an Awesome Journey

Friday, October 27th, 2006

Before you even begin any “journey” in life, you should take the time to outline exactly what needs to happen in order for it to be an outstanding experience.

Oftentimes, you don’t have complete control over the “black-and-white” or “bottom line” results. However, you do have absolute control over the amount of effort you put forth day-in and day-out, how you handle your emotional state along the way, and how organized you are while going through the process. Take the time to establish goals, plans, and standards in these areas too.

By doing so you’ll guarantee that your journey will have been an awesome experience when it is over.

Become Your Own Toughest Critic and Your Most Encouraging Cheerleader

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

Your standards in life will determine your level of success. Always remember that your standards can never be too high.

Never try to convince yourself that your standards are already high enough. There’s always a higher level of competence to everything you do in life.

Never try to convince yourself that your standards are higher than other people’s standards. You really have no idea what other people do on a day-to-day basis.

In order for you to continually take your efforts to a higher level, you must become your own toughest critic and your most persuasive, encouraging cheerleader. This balancing act is an acquired skill that can only be developed through constant monitoring and self-assessment

Never Settle for Less Than What You’ve Already Accomplished

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

More than anything else, it’s your mental fortitude that determines you physical abilities–and limitations. I am constantly amazed by what the mind is capable of achieving. I’m convinced its possibilities are limitless.

Once you’ve established a certain standard of achievement, fight like hell to never do anything less than that again. Never again settle for less than what you’ve already accomplished. Make those outrageous demands. Eventually, your body will fall in line and accommodate your wishes.

Save Time and Build Upon the Success of Others

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

We are often told that “success leaves clues.”

Are we always smart enough to listen to those successful people when they offer us their sage advice and reveal those valuable clues? The sooner we listen and take action, the sooner we’ll have the opportunity to experience that same level of success. Do it now! You’ll save yourself a hell of a lot of frustration.

Remember that you have never been the kind of person you are striving to become. How are you going to come up with a plan on becoming that person all by yourself? Exactly what experience and knowledge do you have? Wouldn’t any plan you come up with be merely a series of guesses?

Sure, you could eventually bumble your way onto the right path. That might take an extraordinary amount of time and perseverance. That’s not the most efficient way to go. Building upon the successes of others is.

Just Get the Job Done!

Friday, October 20th, 2006

You’ll always have problems and distractions in your life that you’ll need to manage. Everyone has to deal with this fact of life.

Those people who can focus on the matter-at-hand (training and eating–or whatever is most important to them in life) even when their world is crumbling around them are the true “machines” that will eventually become successful in their endeavors.

Don’t wallow in your “challenges”! Believe me, you are not alone–so don’t feel sorry for yourself. Just get the job done!
