Good advice from your friends here ... and you can still stay active during the time off doing some fun physical stuff you didn't have time to do while preparing for your contest.

I agree with Lex, after the discipline and grueling workouts and diet leading up to the show you have put yourself through a lot. Some "on purpose" guilt free time off will allow you to refocus and plan your next attack. Stay strong and stay safe Ed.

Hi, just wanted to offer encouragement after reading your blog. Just know that what you are experiencing is natural, especially if you train almost daily, non-stop and have not had a break in several months. I don't know if that's the case for you, but it's probably time to take a break for about a week, just as you said you were thinking of doing. Read my profile info on "motivation". I don't think much of the word, and it is exactly for the feelings you described. I think it will make sense if you read it. Be encouraged and don't stop training. This feeling will pass and you will be back on track. You jsound burned out and ust need a break. Take care and keep pumpin'.

Sounds like you just need a change of scenary. The short break might be just what you need. Nothing wrong with gettig away from the iron for a few days. You actually might come back and notice renewed energy.
