Posing Critique

Had my first real posing critique today from a trainer at my gym.  I’m doing pretty good, but foot placement is a little off sometimes, losing my balance every once in a while.  I also have a habit of not leveling out my shoulders.  All in all, it was a good learning experience and gave me good insight on my posing errors.  More to come!

Humbled to say the least…

Took some progress pics today and wasn’t too happy with the results.  Not nearly where I feel I should be at 8 weeks out.  This is my 1st contest, so I don’t know, but I thought I’d look a little better. Could be my lighting or camera angles, but didn’t see much progress IMO.  Maybe I need to kick it up a notch somewhere, don’t know yet, but somewhere.  Any and all comments, tips/suggestions, etc. would be appreciated.

Phase 2 underway

10 weeks out from the show so the following changes are happening this week:

1) 200 calorie decrease in diet.  That takes me from 2800 to 2600.

2) Aerobic activity goes from 3 times a week/20 min. durations to 4 times/20 min.

3) I start practicing my posing routine for 20-30 minutes a day.

4) Pasta and bread is eliminated. I can no longer substitute wheat products either.

I weighed myself this morning and I’m still at 200, but I’ve had to tighten the belt up a little, so I know the bodyfat is going down.  I have another bf measurement coming in 2 weeks to see where I am.  So far, so good.

Higher rep range for legs

I’ve been doing higher reps/lower weight with my quad workouts (excpet for Leg Presses) and I’ve noticed better improvements than with the heavier weight/lower rep workouts.  I’m finally seeing more overall development in my thighs, not to mention the cardio benefits from the high rep range.

I’ve been doing up to 40 reps on leg extensions, 15-20 on squats/hack squats while keeping the leg press in the 8-10 range.  I’ve taken some beginning pics and will post them along with the after pics in a few weeks.

Delayed Phase 2

Monday, January 7th, 2008

I’m behind a week on my cutting program, :-( I had the flu and it shut me down. I am a big baby when I’m sick,… hey I don’t get sick often, so I make the most out of it! I’m just getting back into the gym and had 2 killer workouts to get back on track. I won’t start Phase 2 of my cycle until next week though. Hopefully it won’t slow me down from peaking in early March.
