Beware of ‘Mr. I Spotted You So Now We’re Friends Guy’!

Be careful who you ask to spot you in the gym.  I was doing DB flat presses and needed some forced reps. I asked this guy in the gym to spot me for a sec.  After the set, I had a new best friend (didn’t want one, though).  He proceeded to follow me around the rest of my workout, constantly giving unwanted advice. "Here try this, you should do that, these don’t work so good unless you do this many, etc…" He was an older guy so I tried not to be rude but get my point across that his services, (and company) was no longer desired, but he didn’t take the hint(s)!  I guess he does this to other people as I noticed people snickering and pointing.  I finally dipped into the locker room and hid out for a few minutes once he finally resumed his workout.  I ended up changing my workout avoiding him.  I’ll be on the lookout for him tomorrow when I wear my Animal T-shirt, "I’m Not Here To Talk!"

*L* That’s as bad as having the "puppy dog" following you around. The kid that follows you, trying to do your workout at the same weight, and can’t. And, stares at you the whole time you’re there.

Another argument for the home gym……
