What are your Priorities?
Well after a somewhat short and dismal contest season it is time to re-assess my priorities. Dismal because I was not able to give 100% to contest prep. I made my best attempt at diet/training but family issues overshadowed the whole process and finally, enough was enough.
No longer hazy from a lo-carb diet I can tend to family issues that are far more important that any contest can ever be. Don’t forget, you only get one family, once they’re gone, they’re gone and you don’t get a second chance. My goal now is to be able to balance my future contest plans with family, which I’ve done poorly at in the past. But trust me on this, family will never take a back seat to any contest again.

sounds like a great goal and a most beneficial one to boot

Amen sister! I am determined to figure out how to BALANCE. I truly believe there is a way to do it all, and it probably starts with eating clean year round, which I have never done. But when….if….I ever figure it out, I’ll share what I learned.
Good for you for seeing what’s important. I’ve "woken" up too!!

Good for you. I try to keep perspective on what this is all about, at least for me. It is to enhance & enrich my life, relationships, etc…..not to become my primary focus. I doubt I’ll look back at age 80 or 85 and see that getting a lean & shredded physique as the highlight of my life. But I would look back with regret if I did so at the expense of family, relationships, faith, etc.
