I’m taking a nice long break….
Wednesday, October 1st, 2008…From competing and hard-core dieting. This year I did three shows - pretty much dieted from January through mid-September. The Ohio State show was my 16th show in five years. Now I’m seriously ready for a nice long break. Some mental rehab if you will.
After competing in figure competitions for the past two years ( I started in bodybuilding), I need to take the next 12 months and "figure" out which division I want to continue with. They are both equally demanding both physically and mentally. What it comes down to is that figure takes entirely to long. They seriously need to dump that 1-piece round. I mean, reeeaaaallllly. AND the judging standards need to be more equal across the board.
I read on another board where a national level judge commented to an up-and-comer that they should not use a pro-level physique as a goal for starting out. Aaaallllllright! So they should aspire to having a novice level physique?? Ahem, whatever…..
And now there is talk of adding a bikini divsion…You have got to be kidding me. So that in two years they will suffer the same issues that figure does now?? Puuuhhhhleeaase. I think there is just to much thought being put into what is expected of figure girls. Do they look good? check. Do they look better than everyone else? check. There’s your winner. But that’s just me.
