Arnie presses Cont’d….

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

2 scoops NoExplode 30 mins prior to workout.

Warmup w/BB presses

Arnies -
#35 x 8
#35 x 10
#35 x 9
#35 x 8

Seated DB Raises - #10 x 15 ( 4 sets)

Reverse Incline Rear Delt Raises
#12 x 15 ( 4 sets)

This was a terrible workout in more ways than I can count.  I had a hard time focusing and had some pain in my shoulders while pressing and doing side raises.  If I didn’t know any better I’d say my body was saying it was overtrained.   I have been pushing it pretty intensely with my shoulder w/o’s lately so I just might give them a week off.  I"m getting closer to my goal though as all my working sets were done with the #35’s.

Arnie Presses cont’d

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Another shoulder workout.
had two scoops no-explode 45 mins prior to workout

Arnie Presses - warmed up with #20 bb presses
#35 x 10
#35 x 8
#35 x 6
#30 x 10

DB Side Raises
#20 x 12 ( did four sets)

Rear PecDec
#40 x 15 ( did four sets)

Cable Raises
#20 x 15 each side for 3 sets

after the cable raises I was pretty much burned out.  I just wish I would have had someone spot me on the Arnold’s as I could have gotten another two reps or so on each one.  But there’s a little improvement over last workout so I"m happy with that.

Arnie Presses cont’d…

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

got in a quick 20-25 min shoulder workout today.
1 min rest between each set; 2 mins between ea exercise.

Military Presses (after a warmup:
#30 x 12 ( 4 sets)

DB Rear Laterals:
#15 x 15 ( 4 sets)

DB Side Laterals:
#12 x 15 ( 4 sets)

This is a little lighter than my last shoulder workout, mostly because I didn’t have a ton of time to devote to
the workout, plus I just did a heavy shoulder workout a few days a ago.  This time though, my shoulders actually got
good and sore; probably due to being more strict about rests. Sure made the w/o go fast!

Arnie Presses Cont’d

Saturday, January 13th, 2007

Warmup with some standing light bb presses.
Seated Arnie Presses -

#30 x 15
#30 x 12
#30 x 10
#30 x 7

DB lat Raises
#20 x 15 (4 sets)

Front Raises
#15 x 15 ( 4 sets)

Without a doubt making some really good gains on the weights.  The rest periods were 1.5 mins between sets
on the presses.  don’t know why reps dropped so low on the fourth set.

I think another workout with the #30’s and after that I’ll maybe start hitting the #35’s again.

Arnie Presses cont’d

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Warmup with a couple sets of presses then right into the meat of the workout.

Arnie Presses - #30 x 15, #35 x 6, #35 x 5, #30 x 9
DB Side Raises - #20 x 15 (2 sets), #15 x 12 ( 2 sets) I used 45 sec rest between each set
DB Front Raises - #15 x 12 ( 3 sets)

I do not like working my shoulders in such a low range as I did on the #35’s but it is what it is.
I made some improvements over last week.  Starting out w/#30’s vs #25’s for one.  Felt very strong and put my all into the first set.  I probably should have stuck with #30’s.  I went up #5 for my side raises and #3 for my front raises.  Several factors contributed to this raise in weight.   I had a great nights sleep, was motivated and also have been supping w/NO product.  But I think motivation was biggest factor.  Next week I might forgo trying to get #35’s and just working on getting 4 good sets with the #30’s.

The Arnie Goal

Monday, January 1st, 2007

Well today was my first day of working on reaching my goal of doing multiple sets of arnie presses with #35dbs.
I started w/warmup of some light bb presses, then went right into arnie presses.  After working up from the #25’s I got my very first set of 9 arnie presses with the #35’s!!  Gym owner spotted me on last two reps but they were all complete reps!  Did some db lateral work and called it a day.  I’ll just work on adding one more rep or so each week and maybe add on a second set with the 35’s.
