LEG PRESS LUNACY!
Today was legs and I decided to do something a bit different than the standard workout. My goal was to completely destroy my legs by only using various leg press machines and methods of using them!
I started on what is called a "squat press" machine, which is like a leg press that comes down and goes up in an arc rather than a linear manner. I did 2 sets here for 7-9 reps.
I then moved to a seated leg press that really allows you to go deep and keeps constant tension on the quads. I hit two sets of 10-12 reps.
Next was the regular 45 degree angled leg press where I did them one leg at a time, but with my body angled inward to focus on pushing with the vastus lateralis in order to improve quad sweep and side glute cuts. I went for 2 sets at 13-15 reps.
Then I finished up on another angled leg press, but one that has a totally different feel than the previous one. Here I again did single leg presses but this time with my foot straight and very low on the platform in order to emphasize the quads fibers right down by the knee. These were for 2 sets of 16-20 reps!
The pump and burn was "unGODly" and I was totally trashed! I know I am going to wake up VERY sore tomorrow!
