Day 1

February 24, 2009

So yesterday was my official day of hitting the gym. It took every bone of my body to go, but I went and I am proud of myself. Now, I am new to this lifting weights stuff. I mean, I usually use the machines, but free weights and all, is all new to me. So, my buddy is always yelling at me telling me that I need to get over my fear of lifting weights, but I am weak when it comes to lifting weights. I guess you can say my fear is that I will be lifting like less than 50lbs, but as they say, you have to start somewhere. I understand that concept, but I am still leary at doing it, so I decided to go to the gym, when it is empty.

Now, I am not trying to get all bodybuilder like. I am trying to lose some weight and tone up. Having a 6pack would be nice, but I will settle for a 6pack as long as I can see the outline of it….funny I know, but it is the truth. I am not trying to get all cut, just toned.

So, after my extensive research on Bodybuilding, I am using others info to help me out, following their diet plan and workout routine, hoping to see some results. I have also been emailing folks on here telling me the 411 on how they do everything, and I must say thank you! Your help and motivation really helped me start off!

So, as I was surfing BB.com, of course the Male Transformation of the Week is something that I look at on a regular. I am amazed to see how these dudes workout and get these bad a$$ results! Well, I am following MDRANE’s workout plan, and Jessie Lile diet meal plan. My supplements so far are:

Muslce Milk

Animal Cut

Animal Pack

Hydroxycut (regular kind)

Yesterday, I worked out Chest and Triceps. That consisted of:

Incline Dumbell Flyers 3 x 10 (30lbs)

Decline Dumbell Press 4 x 20 (20lbs)

Dumbell Bench Press 3 x 10  (30lbs)

Dip Machine 3 x 10   (80lbs)

Skullcrusher (I HATE THESE) 3 X 20 (25lbs)

Cardio 30 mins Treadmill (15mins)/Ellipitical Machine (15mins)

As you can see, my weight is mad light, but I am new to this. Hopefully I will be able to maintain this for two weeks, and then I will go up 10lbs? Does that sound realistic? Maybe I should do baby steps and do 5lbs……well, we shall see. I am not sure what tonight is, b/c the freakin military blocked the site during work hours….

I ended the low carb diet since everyone said it was bad for you. After about being on it off and on for 2 weeks, I am doing the small 5-6 small meals a day. This is hard since ½ the time I am not hungry, but hey, the things you do to get in shape….I am saving my protein shake for the end b/c I seem to be hungry after the gym. Is this normal?
