I work out at the gym 6 days a week, religiously. I’ve passed up dinner with my girlfriend’s parents to go lift because the gym would only be open for another 1.5 hours. I eat steak, tuna, chicken, make disgusting shakes, and do whatever it takes to get the proper amount of protein my body needs to repair muscle tissue and grow stronger. Then there’s the time at the gym, also no treat; sweating, constantly pushing my physical and mental limits.
So many people ask, “Why do you do that to yourself?” For me, it’s not so much for the muscle as it is a challenge, a dare, a knot in my stomach that won’t let go until I remain true to my goals and go lift. I’m not out to be the next Governator or trying to be the biggest; I want to go to bed each night, satisfied, proud, that I do something not everyone can do and stick with it.
