just got started up again and the soreness is a pain in the arse. did light workouts over the last couple of weeks to prepare for the breakdown, apparently i didn’t do enough! now i’m stuck in the waiting phase for the soreness to go away so i can have at the gym again.
i did really good up until november of last year with my workouts, then an elbow injury kept me out of the gym for a few months. so i did what i do best, got lazy and never went back. sure do regret it now, especially when at the pool you hear you’re getting fat again
! oh well, hard work will take care of it…….once the soreness is done.

Yeah just some more rambling! I’ve been constantly taking pictures for progress, problem is they don’t really look any different. i know that you can’t always see the changes at first but it’s always nice to see something. i can’t quite seem to get my abs over the hump and show up. a trainer told me last night that cardio first thing in the morning would take care of it, and only 30 minutes or so a day. guess i can always give that a shot….can’t hurt anything. happy lifting…………………………….

i can’t remember the last time i was this damn sore! i’ve been working out 6 days on with sundays off, and apparently i’m overdoing it a little! my chest and arms feel blown out and i haven’t done anything today!! oh well, i have to go beat up my stick legs tonight so at least the arms get a break. just pointless rambling here as always……

Yeah so I just got done with my first week of heavy lifting…..again! Anyone can tell by my progress pictures that I got all sloppy and lazy there for a while. Chili dogs from Sonic and ice cream sundaes replaced the gym there for a while. I would have almost kept smoking than gain all that useless weight.
Anyhow I’m back to busting my hump and trying to stay in it. Tonight I had legs and the squats alone nearly killed me, and only with 135lbs!! Oh well…..
Squats: 4 x 12 x 135lbs
Lunges: 4 x 10 with 15lb dumbells……I know…..huge!
Leg Curls: 2 x 15 x 80lbs
1 x 12 95lbs
1 x 6 x 110lbs……got really weak
Calves: 10 sets 15 with 90lbs on seated calve raise machine
Straight leg deadlift: 4 x 12 x 95
Boat load of crunches!
Anyway these workouts are killing me, but hopefully I’ll get used to it and be ready to go hard again all week next week!! Just a bunch of blabbering…stay strong everybody!!

I had hoped to be a lot further along at this point but the progress pictures say different. Looks like I’ll have to go at it harder. Had a sick spell with the flu but lifting hard now that it’s over. One day at a time and the results will come just have to stay motivated.

Well I just thought I would write a little information down for anyone who wants to quit smoking. I’m as close to smoke free as I have been in a long time. I started taking a medicine called Chantix. It’s seeming to grow in popularity as more and more people are trying to quit. I have had good success with it. Anything else I’ve tried didn’t really help at all but this stuff works. Only drawback is how expensive it is. It costs a little over $100 for each month’s supply and you have to go to the doctor for it. Other than that, I can’t complain. By no means is it a miracle drug or anything, but it will help kick the addiction while not putting anymore nicotine in the system. You just have to maintain the willpower to kick the habit. I would highly recommend you try it if you want to quit smoking or know someone who does.

Don’t know why I’m writing this, but tonight I took my first steps inside a gym in about a year. It’s amazing how much you lose by laying off that long and getting lazy. I managed to get through about 3/4 of a lighter version of my old workout before I ran completely out of gas! The feeling of the pump was great and very encouraging. Just have to take this thing one day at a time and get back in shape. Moral of the story is keep your ass in the gym!!
