It’s been just over 7 weeks at the gym…

Sunday, February 18th, 2007

The other day I started to get alittle discouraged but then I stopped and counted the number of weeks  Ive been working out and it was 7 weeks and 2 days. And I thought -you know what??The fact that my body HAS changed already is AWESOME!! Yeah, of course Id like to say "I lost 15-20 pounds and 2+ dress sizes" (like every frickin infomercial) but instead I AM able to say "I lost a good solid 10 pounds of ugly fat and Im streamlining my body"! And like they say-slow and steady wins the race.

This has been a wonderful phase for me-I love respecting my body…working toward a better /healthier me! I never want to go back to those horrible self destructive ways. And best of all, I am doing this in a readsonable manner. I am NOT starving myself and setting unrealistic expectations. WOW! I think Im really onto something…

First 10 pounds gone…55.5 left

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Hello! I posted my progress photos (down 10 pounds). I have to admit it’s not easy but it IS motivating! I can’t wait to look at myupicture and think "not bad"! Like I’ve always said, though, this is payback time for YEARS of self destruction.

My first goal

Friday, February 2nd, 2007

Hey! Today is Friday Feb 2 and I (almost) reached my goal! I wanted to weigh 188 …instead I came in at a verry close 189.2. So, now is time for me to set my next short term goal and here it is-I will continue to do pretty much exactly what I have been doing except for a few minor changes. First) I will NOT get hung up on the number that is on the scale. I will use it only for a basic guide toward my progress but wont allow it to determine my level of motivation. and the second thing is to make sure I exercise within my target heart range. I have been woking way beyond my max (thinking harder was better) and now I find out that that actually works against me in that it doesn’t burn fat but instead it burns carbohydrates. Im only keft to wonder ‘if’ and ‘how much’ this has affected my progress?? so, for now I can concentrate on enjoying my workouts at a more comfortable pace and PROBABLY even have better results!  I wonder how many others have made the same mistake?
