3 weeks out………..

3 weeks out and ready to go.  2 more ‘real’ training weeks until ‘peak week’ begins.  Today is my last ‘high carb’ day so this week I should feel really good.  Things are coming along…just waiting for show time!!!

My legs are heavy as hell!

Ok, so my first week of training post competiton wasn’t bad, I had a lot more energy (maybe due to the fact that I ate on Sunday) but now….wow!  This morning I did Chest w/light triceps, and running sprints on the treadmill.  I start out at 8.0 for 45 sec, then increase to 9.1 75 sec, and alternate for 15 min like that, cool down run for 10 min at 8.0 and walk at an incline, well today, I was toast!  I barely made my 15min of intervals, then I ended up just walking at an incline for the last 15min.  My legs are tired and feel like lead.  How depressing………and I had so much energy last week!  Thank god tomorrow is my REST day!!!!

4 weeks out from my 2nd competition

I competed for the first time April 12 in the NPC Cincinnati.  I took 2nd in both Novice and Open Figure B.  Here I am again, 4 weeks from my 2nd competion and I can’t wait. I had only one cheat day (the sunday after) where my husband took me to lunch at a mexican place.  I seriously ate way too much hot salsa and guacamole. 

 Anyway, the show date is May 17…………..I’m still on track just counting down those days again.  I’m just a little sore this week.  After taking it easy and very light in the gym the week leading up to the show, I got right back on my gym routine this past Monday.  Legs are tired from 2 days of sprint intervals and leg day.  Oh well, I’m headed now to the gym for my early am fasted hour of cardio.  Today, I think I’ll run,bike and elliptical!
