friday……….at last

July 3, 2009

Decent workouts and decent diet this week, could be better though and will be better.  Leg day this morning was pretty good, I’m waiting for my legs to start getting tight.  I leg pressed the heaviest I’ve done in a year, so I felt great. Taking the day off work to chill with my husband and take Bosco to Wiggly Field dog park=)  Happy 4th!  Tomorrow’s arms…yay!

ok ok, back on track

June 29, 2009

I’ve been MIA for the last week or so, having serious stomach issues again, had a blood test and ultra sound on my abdomen, thank god everything came back ok….well, other than the celiac of course.  So now I’m seriously going to have to disect every ingerdient in anything I eat so I can stay happy and healthy and no more digestion issues.

I’m back to feeling pretty good, my chest training was great and I’ve got so much energy this morning.  Still not liking having to keep my cardio so damn short, 25-30 minutes is killer mentally, knowing I was doing sooo much more during contest prep, but oh well I have no choice if I want to grow.  I’m really looking forward to training back tomorrow morning, I hope I feel as good as I do now!

Tuesday 6/16

June 16, 2009

2 days in a row….whoa!  Training has been great, diet yesterday was spot on, not too hungry, just about right.  I’m taking in about 1600 calories or so for right now, soon to be 2000, maybe a tad over.  This morning was Back training, felt great and did 25 min moderate cardio after.  20 min run sprint intervals, 5 min. incline walk.  Tomorrow is REST!

And so it begins………………….

June 15, 2009

Just got back from a week in Ft Myers Beach and had a great time. Ate some great seafood every night and not to mention some great drinks….all day long, well, mostly. One entire case of green apple smirnoff ice, one bottle of wine and 2 1/2 jugs of Cuervo margaritas and cocktails with dinner every night, (yes, that’s all me baby!) I’m happy to say, I can still button my shorts and fit fine into my clothes =) Although my husband and I stuck to our usual training split all week, I did hardly NO cardio except for 15 easy minutes on a machine and 3 walks on the beach. That is so out of the norm for me, no cardio. Ok Ok so I know my last show of ‘09 was in April, I’ve been messing around with my training and diet eversince. I’ve had a ton of stomach issues which have left me nautious, bloated and not able to give 100% all the time, which it sucked. I was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease, so I need to watch what I eat now more than ever, or I’ll feel pain again. Anyway, after 2 months or so of wasting time (thats how I see it) I’m ready to give it all I’ve got in and out of the gym to prepare for my 2010 season. I’ve had enough rest, slacked on the diet and drank more alcohol in one week that I have in the past 2 years (for real) It’s GAME ON as of this morning. Got back form FL Saturday and headed to the gym first thing Sunday morning for 25 minutes of sprint intervals on the treadmill and 15 light on the bike. This a.m. I headed to the gym at 4am with my hubby to train Chest. I felt so energized and strong, I did 25 minutes on the elliptical after. 25 minutes seems like nothing compared to what I’ve been doing, but I guess I gotta keep it low to build that muscle. Pre workout: 1 scoop whey, Post: 2 scoops muscle milk light and just finished a nice breakfast, 1/2 cup oats, 3 egg whites, 1 whole, 2 ounce lean turkey YUM…….. I am commited to keeping this off season blog so I can be accountable and share all of my improvements in the gym……off to work. Tomorrow I’m looking forward to a great back training

Monday January 5

January 5, 2009

Despite having a cold and cough for the past week and a half (when will this go away?) yesterday morning cardio went a lot better than I had thought. Wasn’t sure I was going to be able to wake up early a.m. due to taking a Nyquil the night before at 5pm, by 7 I was out like a light, only with my hubby waking me to feed me my 9pm protein shake, then back to bed I went.  Woke up at 5:30, chugged some coffee and redline and I was off feeling good running on the tmill, mixed with some stairclimber to total 45 strong minutes.  The rest of the day I was on the couch or in bed….NO FUN.  It’s so hard to eat with no appetite due to cold medicine…but I know I have to get all my calories in even though I feel stuffed and can hardly taste anything.

Last night I took just 1/2 a dose of nyquil so I’d be sure to alert when the alarm rang at 3:30am, headed to the gym for chest and back and some cardio.  I was on fire once I got there and my running sprints felt damn good as well.  Tomorrow’s leg day number 1, with glutes as a main focus……off to make the donuts….(well, not really).

10 weeks out

January 4, 2009

Had my meeting yesterday now that I am 10 weeks out an officially started serious contest prep.  I lost 1% BF in 3 weeks since my last meeting by staying to my original 1700 cal. diet with no cheats, except my last dine out at Bonefish on new years eve (grilled mahi with veggies and one crab cake….)

Cardio is now increasing from 4 days at 30 minutes to 4 days at 30min. added in one day at 40-45, diet slightly changed not bad at all, just took out some PB and added a high carb meal Thursday nights (the night before my high intensity circiuit leg day) and that’s about it.  I’m a tad ahead of schedule so far, so there’s no need to go too crazy with diet and cardio just yet, the only thing my coach says is that my legs are what I will have to concentrate on, leaning those puppies out more.  Of course…the story of my life as this was and issue last year, but the last 3 weeks they came in pretty lean so I’m not too stressed at this point.  He said I’m pretty easy…..good thing I didn’t go overboard this summer and gain a shit ton of weight or I’d be in a world of hurt right now.  This just prooves how important it is to eat clean all year long…with a few cheats here and there…or in my case should I say Margaritas.  Ok, I’m headed to to the gym for some cardio before my day starts.  Happy Training

Almost 12 weeks to go

December 18, 2008

Had my 13 week out meeting on Tuesday, all looks great so far.  I’m down on bf, down in weight, and a tad down in mass(not good at this point).  Sooooo……I am to keep my calories and macros the same until Jan 5, that’s when the party starts.  I’m progressing with 1700 and just a few days of cardio, so no need to cut right now, that comes at 10 weeks.  Still feeling amazing, training is balls to the wall 98% of the time and I’m in the zone.  Christmas is coming….no biggie, nothings going to stand in my way. I’ve been 100% on diet since Nov. 1 so I’m told I can have a cheat meal New Years eve….YAY!!!  I’m excited, but nervous because it’s "OFF" plan….and mentally it drives me nuts.  Oh well, Bone Fish here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
