About Me and My Blog
Hi, my name is Shannon. Of course, if you looked at my profile page, you already knew that, right? Anyway, I am 40 years old, married for 17+ years and have two kids, ages 16 and 14. I am in my 6th year of teaching Math at the middle-school level. This is my 2nd career. My first was as a CPA in the Real Estate industry. The change in careers coincided really with my decision to "get fit" though I didn’t really realize it at the time. It was the beginning of my journey which continues today.
I "found" bodybuilding last summer when struggling to lose the last 20 pounds or so of fat and transform my body into I am today. I say last 20 pounds or so because I have lost a total of around 70 pounds. My story is intertwined throughout my blog entries and my hope is that by sharing my journey someone will be inspired to start their own journey.
This "journey" as I like to call it has literally transformed my life inside and out. It has not merely been a transformation of my physical self. As I lost weight, started lifting weights and noticeably leaned out, I have gained confidence in myself and I truly love the way I look. Most days anyway. I still have "fat" days and I still have areas I need to work on, but overall, I’m a much happier, confident person.
