3 Weeks…

Exactly 3 weeks from my first contest…

Some concerns (I’m not in panic mode, so don’t tell me to "chillax", Michael ;) )…the 2 lbs that showed up on Sunday hasn’t gone away and my ankles have been totally swollen since Monday night, except that today they do seem almost normal…any thoughts on what might be causing that? 

Diet hasn’t really changed except a few calories less than last week…cardio has increased a bit…alternating 45 minute and 60 minute sessions and taking every 5th day off.  With increased cardio and the swollen ankles, I thought maybe increased water intake would help so been drinking at least 5 quarts.

Weight training is pretty much the same…still taking it easy on the legs due to herniated disc.  Working bi’s and tri’s tonight…one of my favorite workouts!!! :)   Oh yeah, I’m gonna put my tan on tonight to see how that goes :o )…wish me luck!!!

Gonna TRY to get some video of tonight’s workout so I can add that to my site…stay tuned!!

    I’m no expert but maybe you just need to elevate your legs. Take a load off. :0)

    Were you sitting all day at your teacher workshops? That could cause it. However, I tend to think the swollen ankles are related to your herniated disk. Check with your bro, he should know.

    Good luck with the tan, sounds like it could be messy.

    last time I saw swallon ankles, my wife was 9months pregnant with our 2nd. That is obviously not the problem so I will differ to Mike for the expert advice (I assume you are refering to Bahama Man), I am sure he will chime in soon. Hey, let us know how the tan goes, I was thinking on trying some on my legs (really bad tan lines) for some photos. I am clueless on that stuff . May not mean much but I believe in you and I feel you will pull it altogether adn rock the show. Good luck.

    Okay, Mike (aka BahamaMan) chiming in, but mostly not about swollen ankles. Other than to wonder about the time of the month. I mean, I’d imagine that you are not menstrating at your low bodyfat, but maybe there are some other "monthly things" happening. Isn’t water retention one of them? Regarding your tan, I was going to do a blog on that soon, but in the meantime, I’ve used ProTan and like the natural color it gives. Personally, I apply a coat, let it set several hours, take a shower, then apply another coat, let it set, take a shower. Etc. It looks like a lot of it washes off in the shower, but each time more stays on. My best color came when I applied it for a show one weekend, then applied it again for another show the next weekend. During the week some wore off, but I retained a lot so that the second application gave me a great looking "tan".
