First mini-work out / benchmark

I’ve just got back from the gym and I’m absolutely nackered.

Not best pleased with the "new" gym, it doesn’t have a lot of machines, and has no free weights area so I was pretty limited on what I could do, and what I could improvise on.

Anyway, here is my workout:

5 min row (Really worn out after - eek, not a good start)

Machine Press
20kg x 15
30kg x 12
40kg x 12

Wide Grip Pull Downs
70kg x 10
80kg x 8
80kg x 8

5 Min Jog

2.4k run - 19:04 Mins
Split into: 100m run, 100m walk

After thaughts/feelings:
All in all a really poor workout, the gym equipment really didn’t help and there was a few people in there so I was unable to get to some machines (there are only about 5) so I did what I could just to get the feel of moving in a gym again. I wasn’t even able to stick to one set of exercises.
As for the run I didn’t realise actually how unfit I am and couldn’t believe it when after running the first 100m, I was unable to carry on.

Determined to get my 2.4k time, I plodded on, and did feel a bit of satisfaction when the last 100m was complete. But I’ve still got a lot of work to get that down to my target of under 12 minutes.

Sadly, I was unable to achieve my aim of today’s workout to get a benchmark for my future training and get my "1 rep max" for some exercises so will try again next time.

All in all, I’m not very pleased with the work out but am please that I’ve managed to get in the gym an most of all, complete the 2.4k run.

no matter how bad a workout your still way better off than if you just sat around doing nothing. stick with it and you will go far.
