Have you tried stretching your piriformis muscle? Sometimes that, and your other hip flexors/extendors/rotators get inflamed and impinge your nerves. Hopefully you're healed (or just about) by now!

Here something I did for my Hammy pull, three years ago. I rest, rest, rest. Do abs and lower back strengthening exercise to take undo preesure off the legs. And also take a HOT bath in Epsom salt and Do Tai Chi stretches in the hot bath...slowly.
I hope this can help. Injuries SUCK!!!

SensiD, so glad that your doc thinks it can be fixed and in fairly short order. Physiotherapy will give you some exercises and you will probably have to do them for "homework". Best wishes for a speedy recovery and getting back into action!

sensiD and Armd I also have a problem with my back it is from a fall a few years back. When I lift or twist wrong there is the chance it goes out. Seen a doc too who said "inflamed" sciatic nerve. I just wonder will an excerise help? I mean if it gets inflammed there is no way to stop that. If I am wrong please help me. thanks. Good luck on the pain sensiD
