"I have changed this goal some. I would still like to drop weight but instead of hitting 200lb I would just like to hit 8% bodyfat, while keeping my size. What ever weight that makes me as long as I am ripped!!!"

STOKED!!! at 11.7%

Friday, January 30th, 2009

I am so stoked! I had a three point caliper body fat done and was excited to find I had dropped to 11.7% body fat. I still have a bit to go to be where I want, since most of the fat seems to be around the waist. But other than that I am ecstatic! I am going to have a seven point done next week to dial this number in to a more accurate number. I am also entering a lower carb faze, so if you see my stats go crazy you’ll all know what is going on. That is assuming anyone reads mine.

The end of a cycle

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Ok I have done a complete cycle (9 days) of Plasmavol. during this process I was dieting and lost some size in my arms due to fat deposits being burned. They are harder than before. I did not see a vascular increase though, I understand that results may vary but for me this product is not worth the money. If you have the money and the time, perhapse a couple of cycles would get you where you want to be. I think I will try another product when I end my 30 days with Dren. Or if I find some literature that I can do it at the same time I may start something else. I hope this post helped someone decide wether or not to try Plasmavol. Again I am not sponsored or paid by anyone to do this.

You don’t have to be the best, just do your best

Monday, January 26th, 2009

This has come up twice in as many days. I was talking to my son yesterday who was upset that he could not do what his brother seems to find so easy to do and he is older than his brother. We were walking in the park with weights doing shoulder presses, hammer curls, lateral, and front raises. The younger of the two pushed hard and kept going even when it hurt, while the older kept quitting before he could have possible felt any burn. Of course during the event I kept telling him to keep going don’t quit, don’t give up, but still to no avail. When it was all over he was sullen, when asked what was up he was angry that he was not as good or better than his brother, and thought of his self as an embarrassment to me. That’s when I told him that I was just like him at his age, always quitting and jealous of other success. Until the day I was told by a wise master on a Kung Fu movie and it struck home. You don’t have to be the best; you must do your best. I think this applies to all things. In bodybuilding there seems to be a lot of effort put forth, your whole life style is changed. I am just learning this. With all you give it should be for yourself, not a title. Do your best, give your all and if that earns you the title of the best, well then it is well deserved because you gave it everything you had to get it, but even if you fall short of what is considered the best, You can always be satisfied that you never cut corners, you never cheated, you always gave everything, you always gave your best. In my eyes that makes you the best.

DREN SIZE ME

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

I am on my first day of using the new Dren fat burner. It is a 30 day cylce, one a day pill, that forbids taking any other form of stimulant. I am hopeful. Coupled with my diet that I started abou a week ago I hope to see great results. I took the first one today about 8am. I felt the effect about 30mins later. No jitters, but you don’t want to sit around fo sure. Today is a rest day. I started it today so as to see any adverse effects prior to hitting the gym. so far so good. It’s about 1:30pm and I still have a steady supply of energy. I do feel a bit hot though and its 60 outside. could be the activity of cleaning the house or the pill. I will see if it is consistant. I’ll keep you posted. BTW I bought it right here on Bodybuilding.com at a price (delivered) far less than anywhere else. If it delivers it will be the most cost effective pill on the market. I am not paid by anyone to do this, I just want to give some un biased reviews on a few products to help everyone out. I will be writing a blog on Plasmavol in a few days. I have been taken it for about 5 days. That’ it for now.

Farwell to Arms

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

I started my diet about 1 week ago to accomplish my lean 200lb. Part of the requirements for the academy is pushups. So, I have been working on endurance. The problem seems to be that reduction in the size of my arms. They are more firm and seem to be getting better shaped however; I find it odd that this body part is turning out to be the first to go.

No the less, my goal is to be lean not bigger. So perhaps when the rest of my body begins to reduce, my arms will look bigger. At some point I can get them back to the size I want them, but for now I must focus on the main goal, a smaller waist line!

I have a Time Machine!

Monday, January 19th, 2009

I went to the Doctor about a year and a half ago. I had several test done, and at the end the news was not bad, just so-so. She basically told me that in 10 to 15 years I would have some serious liver issues from drinking and that my BMI was way too bad, which meant possible heart and other health related issues around the same time frame (statistically). I did a few things to improve my life style but not much, “Hell, I had plenty of time to fix this.” I thought. Then it occurred to me; how many times have I sat and wished I could go back 10 years and do things a little different? I did it with body building for sure. I would think, “Man If I had just been serious about working out 10 years ago, where I would be now?” Then it came on like a light bulb! 10 to 15 years from now, I will wish I could come back to now and stop drinking smoking and start working out seriously and I wouldn’t have these medical issues. So I decided to jump in my time machine come back to now, and I started living the way I should have the first time around. But you know what? Now that I had this Time machine what else could I fix?

I looked at my career. I saw myself on my death bed and asked myself if I was happy. I was as it pertained to my lifestyle and family, yet I regretted not pursuing my dream of law enforcement because it did not pay enough. I realized that it did not matter how much money I made If I had not done what made me happy. So I jumped back in my Time machine came back to now and began to prepare my family to live on about half of what I am making, and applied for a position with the Florida State Troopers. I explained our possible future to my Wife, and being the wonderful understanding woman she is, she completely supported the decision. Happiness means more than money, and quality of life means more than quantity. By the way, I began the changes January 21, 08 and have not had a drink or smoke since. It does work. So borrow my time machine and see what your life is like in 10, 15, maybe even 30 years from now. Are you happy with how it turned out? If not, come back to now and do something about it.

Shut up and work out!!!

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

I had one of those days when my MP3 player ran down and I could not use it. I am not a social butterflie to begin with, But I really don’t go to the gym to talk. I like to turn on my music, get in the zone, and just PUMP. Well, as I said, my MP3 player, which is normally a good way to ignore people and also make yourself less approachable, was down. So there I was naked hearing all of the chatter. I noticed that people in the gym did more talking than working out. At first I told myself that that was their business, it does not concern me. Then it happened, someone noticed that I did not have my "barrier plugs" in my ears. It started with "Wow, that’s alot of weight, how did you get that strong?" " Hey, what can I do to grow my arms?" "What do you do for a living?" BLAH, BLAH, BLAH… Now I don’t like to be mean, and I understand people need direction, and you know, somebody once helped me. But seriously, there is a time and a place for everything. I feel the gym is for working out. If you have the breath to talk, your not working out hard enough! I have prescious little time in the gym to start with, so every moment ther counts. I have no time for chatter. This post may just be a rant, however, I know that there have to be people like me who want to let the talkers know, If you come to the gym to socialize, learn who is there to work out, and leave them alone.   Now, I welcome all comments, even if you want to tell me I’m a jerk.

What is you totem?

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

I was born in the year of the dog, and under the sign of Leo. So I have never minded thinking of my Totems as the wolf, or the lion. Right before I decided to get serious about fixing my body I walked into my office one morning to find a Gorilla and an elephant on my desk. The insinuation, while mild humored, was that my employees saw me as gorilla, or elephant like.  Even though many good qualities can be associated with theses animals; strength, leadership, wisdom, and prowess, I was thinking more along the lines of their similarity with my build that would have brought them to the minds of my folks rather than the afore mentioned qualities. So nothing against those Totems, but I should like better to be thought of as the Lion or the Wolf. Which is what I am working on now. What is your totem and are you happy with it?

If at first you don’t succeed…

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

A word of encouragement; I see to many people quit before they have had a chance to see real results. I myself worked out every morning for months with ZERO return on my investment. Then BAM!!! Everything started changing seemingly overnight, I got stronger each day, the inches melted, and overall I felt better’ “like magic”. If you are feeling discouraged, hold fast, everyone hits the “sweet spot” at different times. Sometimes you may see results right away, and then it stops. Again, don’t quit. You will get past it if you remain diligent. Read, and learn. If something is not working and you’ve given it ample time to work, try something new. Keep your body surprised. The bottom line is the old adage holds true; If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.

Be mindful of you friends

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

I thought of this while trying to help my wife quit smoking and drinking. You must be mindful of your friends and their life styles. I don’t mean for you to judge them, or think yourself better in someway. I simply mean that if you wish to live healthy, you need to surround yourself with like minded people. A recovering adict can not be successful if they continue to hang out around users. likewise, it is more difficult to change your lifestyle to a healthy one if you continue to be around people who are engaged in the same type of unhealthy habits you MUST not do in order to achieve your goals. Don’t become a hermit, just be mindful of the habits your friends have and prepare your defense EVERY time they are around you. At the same time meet new people who share your desire to live healthy. After all that’s why your on BodySpace, is it not?
