Today’s WOD with Crossfit was 15 reps of hang cleans with 115lbs. This was a new one for me so I dropped to 10 reps with 95 lbs. I also did 12 reps of dips since we do not have rings here. Lastly, 21 situps. I did as many sets as possible in 20 minutes. I wanted to throw up my protein shake as soon as I drank it. This will be felt tomorrow.

Today was the first day I have done squats in a few years and the first time since 1996 my buddy has done them. We started off with a couple of warm up sets and then worked our way up. My top weight was 255lbs which I thought would take a few months to get. I love proving myself wrong!

Today was my day back after my day of rest yesterday. I needed it too. Today’s WOD was 5 pullups, 10 pushups, and 15 squats per set. I had 20 minutes to complete as many sets as possible. My buddy and I completed 11 sets. Somehow or another, I pinched a nerve in my neck during one of my sets of pushups. It hurts like hell and I hope it heals by tomorrow…unlikely, but still hoping.

Honestly, I was hoping today was an off day…sweet odence raven I was wrong. Yesterday hurt and is still hurting as I write. Squat thrusts…let me tell you a little something about squat thrusts…they are kind of like being up fecal creek without an oar while being covered with supremely ticked off hornets. Tell you what, put a thong on backwards and hike it up to your shoulders. Then go down a metal slide, backwards, that has been soaking up the suns’ rays for the last 6 hoursand have your friends shoot you with frozen paintballs with the velocity on the guns turned up as high as possible.
Enough of the jibber jabber…today i almost laid down in the gym for the first time in my life. Because the air is so thin where I am, the sets were cut in half and I would not have been upset if it would have been cut in thrids. I did not want but had to drop 10 pounds off the squat thrusters after a few sets. I would have had better chances being locked ina telephone booth and taking on a starving, p’d off wolverine that’s hyped up on angel dust than finishing with the original weight. My form and technique were on the verge of looking like a Picasso on acid. I took the weight off and was thrilled when it was all over. Usually I do quite a few more excercises….today was a not one of those days.
I am sure when the pain subisdes, I will look back at today and say…I hope I never have to do those again…even though I will. I hate being motivated!
