September 12, 2009I have been very athletic my whole life playing sports all the time, playing outside and lifting weights occasionally. When I tore my ACL and meniscus it devistated me but that didnt stop my. I continued to play sports and in turn I got another surgery. Finally I have come to the realization that I dont need to play the sports to stay in shape but I can lift weights and change my eating habbits….so here I am. I feel I have made some great progress and I have to thank my wonderful boyfriend who pushes me and encourages me to do my best. I feel I am more in shape now then I ever was when I played sports…even though I do miss them…lifting weights is such an accomplishment. When you push up that weight you never thought you could, or squat down farther then you ever thought you knees would let you with 225 (as a girl thats not bad). Overall…lifting weights has helped shape me as a person. In the future I have thought about trying to do a competition but I also like lifting weights just for the sure enjoyment of it all.
