So this first competition was a very small one, only 100 total competitors, and actually, only 4 girls in my class including myself, the reason being this was the first year they hosted the Night of Champions in my city, it used to be held somewhere else. Anyhow, I’ve just taken it as a PERFECT first show to get my feet wet, and build some confidence.
So here are some things I did this time that I WON’T do next time:
Wore the worst outfit over my suit while i was waiting the day of my comp; I wore a short sleeved zip up hoodie, and you can see in my profile pic where it wore my spraytan off on my arms, and I also wore pants that were polyester-SO hot!! They made me sweat!!
Also, speaking of spray tan, won’t ever do that again!!! Mine kept getting messed up, and it was SUCH a pain, from what i read on the forum here, protan is the way to go, and one girl suggested mixing 1/2 jan tana, and 1/2 protan for a really nice color. I will be trying that.
I also started to sodium load/deplete the week before the competition. I know my body, and this does not make me look as dry as I could be, what makes me look the driest is drinking at least 2 gallons of water consistently, then all my veins start coming in.
Also, I am not going to wait until right before my competition to see how my body drops water, I am going to dedicate a few weeks to experimentation before the competition.
Also, not going to drop my water intake, but I am going to experiment with manipulating my carbs before the show, so I can look as full and dry as possible.
Things I WILL do at my next show, that worked for this show:
I will definitely continue to rigorously practice my posing, my posing by far was better than the other girls, because I practiced a LOT.
I will do my makeup and hair in a similar fashion, the judges came up to me afterwards and said they thought I should have taken overall, but to just keep doing what I’m doing and they think I will do well, and that my hair and makeup is just how it should be.
I also liked how I pumped up, I felt like it was really effective.
I will be resting a lot before the show, I think this helped.
I will walk on the stage with confidence, I think my confidence completely affected how I did on stage.
Can’t wait for March!!! See you in vancouver!!!

So, I’ve been looking through my pictures on here and OMG, I really look fat compared to what I look like now!!!! I have dropped SOOOO much!!! And not fat conventionally speaking, but in comparison, my body fat was WAY higher when I took these pics, and to think I thought I looked good then!!! Not only that, but I have definitely added muscle in the process, my arms were really small!!! Anyhow, I am so happy with my progress, and SUPER excited to compete this fall!!!! FINALLY!!! I will have to post some new pics soon, and I will definitely be posting my pics from when I win the show!!! <input type="hidden" id="gwProxy" /><input type="hidden" id="jsProxy" onclick="jsCall();" />

Oh boy, it’s been awhile since I’ve body space’d…and a whole lot has changed!!! I am currently 14 weeks out from my very first show, I have leaned out a LOT (I need to get some new pics up, I’ve got some crazy veins in my abs and shoulders now…and those bicep veins!!!!!), and I am single again!!!! Good thing, not bad. Anyhow, my consistency and dedication to my diet and workouts has gone through the roof, and it is hardly a struggle anymore, I am incredibly focused and driven to reach my goal: win my height class and women’s overall in my first competition this september. You can bet it’s gonna happen. I have already achieved my previous goal of changing my attitude towards lifting and my diet, it’s become such a lifestyle now, and it’s not even a question anymore. It’s just what I do. Progress pics will follow soon…

yeah. I am. Been sleeping like it’s going out of style the past few days!!! I took a 4 hour nap on Tuesday, slept 11 hours that night, then took a 1 1/2 hour nap yesterday, and slept another 11 hours last night!!!! And I’ve been getting to bed by 10 o’clock. Yeah. I’m definitely battling this!!! Anyhow, I’m eating good, and I should be back in the gym by tomorrow *crosses fingers*….just resting as much as I can and taking some antibiotics. I should have this thing beat real quick.

Current progress pics are now up. I’m white, and I’ve lost a lot of definition. But I think I can embark on some new territory in the next couple of months. I just really need to focus. I think I can def get back to where I was and even FURTHER…I want to be in kick ass shape to start the summer out, and take off from there!!!! Let’s build some muscle!!!

So, a little news flash: I moved my ‘diet/exercise journaling’ to the bb Forum: Female Bodybuilding-Journaling-Sarah’s Last "Try" for Success. So u can stay updated on my day-to-day SUCCESS on my diet and my AMAZING training sessions!!!!
So, I just have a few things to say today: first of all, I love my boobs. They are so super awesome. They’re just, well, great. They are getting to be natural feeling/looking, and they are just so large and in charge!!! Lol, haha, basically I just love the improvement, and am so happy with them. I don’t feel like their fake at all, I pretty much just feel like I FINALLY went through puberty!!! Lol, I always thought my boobs would develop more naturally, and have actually been kind of subconsciously waiting for them to do so up until my surgery (yeah, I know, I’m 23).
Anyhow, I need to get to the gym today, but my truck is at my work b/c my bf had to pick me up last night because I was feeling SUPER awful, and so dizzy that I couldn’t drive home. I think I have a UTI, but I will go to the doc’s office either tonight or tmrw to find out.
I am SO excited for summer, you DON’T even know, I am SO happy to be running out doors again!!! I am going through another one of those phases where I can’t STAND running in the gym anymore. BORING. I usually make that transition when spring arrives. Then it’s a tough transition to make back into the gym when winter comes around. I am helping one of my clients (non-paying, she trades me hair service) train for a 7 mile run May 3rd, so I actually will be doing some distance running with her 3x/week, so on the off days (2 days/week…maybe 3) I was going to do some sprint work outside. I need to find a good place to do it, but I’d really like to hit my glutes hard. Does anyone know what a good leg workout would be, my goal being to condition, but I’d rather not put on any mass on my legs. They are a good size right now.
Cheers!

So, I did REALLY great last week, making improvements every day, then this weekend I fell into a slump. Just staying up too late, and not being disciplined about my eating. Grrr…this is a frustrating set back. On top of this, I have been moving into my grandparents former house, and it is not only a lot of work to move the stuff, but it is overwhelming because it needs some deep cleaning on top of some other updates/repairs…..and I have been on this really weird sleeping schedule, I just can’t get to sleep until the late hours, and can’t ever seem to wake up with any energy. I think I just got on a weird schedule when i got back from the east coast (3 hour time difference for me). Anyhow, I just can’t seem to get motivated. I do best when I’m on a schedule, and my schedule has been non existent lately, except for clients, but even that tends to be variable. Anyhow, I have never mentioned this before, but I’ve been clinically diagnosed with ADD, so consistency is an ESPECIALLY difficult challenge for me. When I take my medication it makes a big difference, but when I don’t, then things seem to fall apart a bit. Anyhow, just a little frustrated today. It will get better tho. I was just in a really good groove through the winter up until my surgery, and so I’ve been struggling to find that groove again.

So, broccoli is a good source of fiber, as we all know, but sometimes I don’t like eating it. Well, my friend lauri showed me a new way to prepare it. Just take some frozen cut broccoli, microwave, drain water, pour in some i can’t believe it’s not butter spray, and mix in some splenda….SO DAMN GOOD!!!

So, here’s the run-down for the last two days:
yesterday I was SPOT ON, made my food for work again, got off work—WENT TO THE GYM….I did 40 minutes of cardio, and abs, I can tell that my body is STILL recovering from surgery, because while my cardio felt good (the best it has since surgery) I did abs, and was going to follow that with some leg work, but decided to just finish with the abs because I started feeling dizzy, which has been something that has only happened since surgery. But, I am making progress, and figure by the 3 month mark I will be back in the full swing. Anyhow, back to yesterday, after my workout I came home and had one meal left, and got a little distracted (since I was post-workout-hungry-monster!!!) by some pasta with tomato sauce sitting on the stove…UGH!!! I just could not resist!!! But it was only about 3/4 cup, then I followed that with some tuna, celery, and a few nuts…and my water total for yesterday was about 3/4 gallon!!!! Almost there, so I give yesterday an 8/10.
Today….
The day started out good, I was SUPER tired upon waking, but got up around 8:10, and had 30 min before I had to leave to start a big day. I had 4 clients to train today. I was tempted to not make any food for the day ’cause I didn’t think I had the time, but I realized I wouldn’t be back home until 2 or so (after my workout) so I quick make 3 whiting fillets, warmed up some frozen broccoli and threw some eggs on the stove (in a pan, of course! lol) and made it out the door just in time!!! So, I’ve stayed on track all day thus far, did 40 minutes of cardio (weights will have to wait till tomorrow) and now I’m heading out to work!!! Aye-yae-yae!!!! I’m one busy girl!!!! I’m about 1/2 through my gallon of distilled water!!! Wish me luck on the rest of the day!!!!! I will give a follow up when I get home And to all of you out there cheering me on: THANK YOU so much for your support, and keep chuggin on your own goals!!!
laters
***EDIT***
SOOOOOO, the way I finished off the day was with 1 more fish filet, some fresh green beans, and a little bit of chicken!!!!! WOOOHOOO!!! The only variations to my plan were that I ate a teeny bite of carrot cake, forced on me by my boss (sometimes he makes us try things to recommend to customers), and I had a sugar free rockstar (sweetened by sucralose aka splenda-20 cals) and a little bit of butter on my whiting, which I see as fine, as I am not a fat-a-phobic. And……….I drank a WHOLE GALLON OF WATER!!!! YAHOOOOOOOO!!!! I’m really hungry right now, so I’m gonna go eat some broccoli.
For me, this is a 10/10 day. This is what I’m shooting for, and I believe that this is what it will take for me to meet my goals. YAY!!!!

So, yesterday was a little rough, but started out good!!! Yesterday morning I started the day out with a protein shake ’cause I was on the fly to a clients house, woke up really tired, and didn’t have time to make breakfast. Not my first choice, but better than 0 calories to start the day out. Went GROCERY SHOPPING (finally) and came home had 4 oz whiting, and some fresh green beans with a little caesar. Then proceded to cook 2 filets for work along with some broccoli. I also bought gallon jugs of water to keep with me ’cause i want to increase my water intake to a gallon per day. Went to work, ate my meals, and made it almost half way through my gallon of water. THEN is when I messed up. My friend’s birthday was st. patrick’s day, so I wanted to take her out, so we went to an irish bar, and I hadn’t had my 5th meal, I wanted to just get a 6 oz sirloin with some steamed veggies, a perfect choice, but then my bf made me feel like it would be weird to order a sirloin at 10 o’clock at night, and so I ordered a ruben sandwich and fries instead. Good trade, I know, right??? I should have just stuck with my plan, so then I decided to drink. I ended up having 3 1/2 drinks that were gross. A WASTE. My alcohol consisted of a washington apple (shot), spider bite, bacardi & coke, and like 1/4 of some cough syrup-tasting concoction that the bar tender made. Hmmm, nice try bar tender. See, I ‘m not a drinker, so I am SUPER picky about my drinks. This just confirms my notion not to drink when I go out. Didn’t even get buzzed.
Oh, but I to redeem myself a bit I DID split the sandwich with my bf and the fries, so I didn’t eat it all by myself. But then I came home and had a bowl of life/cocoa crispies. Oh brother, when it rains it pours.
And, I didn’t make it to the gym.
So, the first 1/2 of the day I give a 10/10, but the night I give a 2/10, and the 2 only because I split the reuben.
I’ve really got to get my mind focused if I want to lose the weight by may 10th…I should be losing a pound/week….HOLY CRAP!!! I need to get my ass in gear…I’m actually at 138 as of this morning (and I KNOW 7 or more of that is water weight, because I lost ‘7 lbs’ in like 3 weeks b4, obviously water weight)….anyhow, I started this morning off a little rough with a 1/2 cup of pistachios…not terrible, but I am going to the kitchen to make the rest of my meals for the day and pack my workout clothes for after work.
I WANT TODAY TO BE A TEN!!!!!!!!!!!
