I’m not sure how this holiday always creeps up like it does but when it is here man it hits hard. To some the three-day weekend offers way to partying and living it up but to me my weekend is meant as time to remember. Remember all those who gave their lives so that we may enjoy freedoms that cost much more than anyone ever really thinks. Remember my best friend, Bill, that wonderful, awesome, courageous, loving man who gave his life in Iraq to save one of his hurt buddies. My life hasn’t been the same since that night of November 24, 2005 when I received the call. I’ve learned to not take things for granted and love without limits. Not that I need this day to remember him because he is always in my heart but it’s important to remember there are others like me, who lost their best friend, brother, sister, son, daughter, mom or dad…I need to remember them and keep them in my prayers and thoughts…

If you’re not going to stand behind the men and women in the military feel free to stand in front of them.
