Fitness Competitions

I was talking to a girl that I work with and she has me very intrested in doing fitness competitions. She has a trainer that she uses, but the trainer just helps her online and whatnot. I want to find someone that lives in the area that I do or close by. Is there anyone that can help me find someone in the lower MI area, or and ideas on how to find a good trainer???

I looked in the yellow pages under fitness. I found several and spent time talking to many of them personally until I found one that really matched my style.

Hey there, I hope you find a trainer that will be an asset to you. Take jclemen’s advice. Look around and talk to a few of them. You want to get your moneys worth. My wife had a trainer that wanted to be more of a gabby friend than a health trainer. Just be careful. And, if they work for a company, check that out too. I wish you the best of luck.

If at all possible, find one who is a competitor herself. Usually even most trainers have trainers themselves. There are always people who know more about nutrition/diet, training, etc. that’ll be higher up the food chain. A friend of ours is the ‘07 Fitness, Figure, and overall state champ and helps out a lot with the workouts. Bottom line, find someone you like, too, who has more experience with what you’re looking to do. There are a lot of great trainers, but you’ll need one who’s in the territory you wanna venture into.
