My personal experience with endermologie

September 24, 2009

So my mother brought her endermologie equipment one weekend to "vacuum" my cellulite away- basically for any of you guys that don’t know what endermologie is, the machine looks very similar to a breathing mask attached to a sucking tube with rollers inside it. So the aesthetician will "massage", activate your lymph nodes and release all the toxins captured in fat cells relieving the cellulite appearance…well I guess that’s my simple explanation.

I did this one when I had a fat ass (it was 30%bf) and the first time it hurt…a lot, the second session was not so much pain, it felt quite nice at the end.  So for the sake of my research and the stupidity of it all we proceeded to do it with a (22% bf) and you know what??? it hurt!!!!!!!! like @#$#@% I was @#$#@$ cursing!!! it was like getting my already little muscles ripped from under my skin….why do we do this to ourselves women??? I rather be sore from working out ANY day.  If you are considering doing endormologie or any kind of lyposuction take a look on google images: what do you see? a flabby ass that has a lot of celullite, and the after: another still flabby ass with less cellulite appearance…but let me tell you a secret- that fat that you think is magically gone??? has not gone anywhere–its’ still underneath, it will come out in a day or so..so stop wasting your money and donate that to a good cause: the I will eat healthier and get myself to the gym cause.

Nobody is a better judge than yourself-

When I started this journey (almost a year ago) I had a lot of people saying that I did not need to improve my body a lot more than what I had already.  My husband was trying to be cute and maybe they were all correct, its tricky when your are not obese…complacency has been my worst trait. But deep inside I envisioned a better, stronger and happier me. No one can judge you better than yourself, today I feel a lot happier with my body, facing my fears every time I take a progress picture had taught me a lot about committing to myself.  It’s worth every sweat drop.

As far as the cellulite goes?  well I’m counting the days when it will disappear, I’ll continue to do my two hard leg days per week. Get a butt that will make any girl get up from her behind and start molding it. Because that’s what happened to me, I was just browsing through and I saw a woman in this website that was not the prettiest or sexiest, just a woman that had the same starting body, who showed me that it could be done.

Here’s the protein whole wheat oatmeal pancake recipe-

August 21, 2009

I stole most of the recipe from cooks.com but I modified a little:

1 egg ( I used egg white)
1 1/4 c. milk ( I used fat free lactaid)
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. sugar ( I used brown sugar splenda)
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. oats (can be thick cut, regular, quick)
1 scoop of protein shake (key flavor Champion Pure Whey Tropical Sunrise)

Beat egg, add milk and a small drip of olive oil if you must have oil. Sift all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt; add along with whole wheat flour and oats to liquid. Mix just until mixed. Very good with a mashed ripe banana and chopped pecans or walnuts. Should make around 6 medium pancakes, enough for my hubbie and I.

I find making mickey mouse shapes of pancakes will get any kid to eat anything- my dad would get me to eat that way when I was a kid.

Cheers,

Whole wheat oatmeal protein pancakes

August 21, 2009

Yes that’s what I created this morning for breakfast, crazy how delicious they were- highly recommend if you are looking for something that stays with you longer than 3 hours-

It’s funny, since I started working in the gym I haven’t not measured anything= there are always people by the scale and I just don’t pay as much attention to the numbers reason why I have not updated my stats in a while.

I was sitting and talking to one of the trainers in our gym , we agreed that is important to have some goal and always keep that in mind, my original goal was to erase cellulite, that I guess was my fire that drove me to work out. But I need something new because I’m realizing that is becoming a reality, slowly I need to shift my focus to something else.

what should be that next step?

The Megan Fox workout

June 27, 2009

The main bodybuilding website has a feature article on Megan’s workout. She cuts out the whole grains and replaces veggies and fruits as her carbs, I wonder how healthy this is. Another tip is to incorporate apple cider vinegar into the daily meals, in order to boost your metabolism. What I did love was her "station" workout. I tried this in a class last week, the instructor set  17 stations one was a cardio station (jumping rope, jumping jacks etc) and then it rotates with a weight station. You perfom each station for 45 seconds and change. We had 3 sets and it was pretty hard and burning at the end. Loved it.

I lost a subway sandwich from my thighs

June 22, 2009

The beautiful art of forgetting to take your measurements, its been 3 or so months since I last took them and to my surprise I lost 3 inches from my thighs …each leg, combined that makes a 6" subway sandwich!

I’m so excited that I have lost so much, as I was holding a subway sandwich for lunch yesterday I really couldn’t picture myself gaining 3 inches again.  Now to lose a couple more inches of fatness. I love strong toned legs is like having a clear skin.

Muscle Milk Light Strawberry

June 21, 2009

I decided to try this drink and my review is the following: it really sucks …..

I try that stuff and I simply do not get how they can have a product out like that, maybe I drank an expired one..it was ful of curd-like texture and the plastic and protein flavor was just disgusting. It does not taste like strawberry…

Sorry to vent but the other ones are so good Muscle milk cookies and cream is my favorite ..smooth and tasty…what’s up with strawberry??

Gym Life

May 21, 2009

Gym life is really a simple one. Here’s why I love the different cliques people develop:

Spinners: the spinners are people that not only love their spinning class (and shoes) but they will attend other aerobic classes as a religion. Most likely are bff’s to the instructor, talk about their weekends while they warm up and make the first timers feel like we just walked into a private cult.
Weight lifters: Their honorary badge will be the shirt they wear (and the cut),  easily spotted by carrying around a bag filled with drink supplements- they will not acknowledge you until you prove yourself worthy by being a regular and  pumping anything higher than the 5lb weights. The will provide great advice and even spot you when they see you might need it and that you have earned it.

Cardio Bunnies
- I feel they are the most temperamental of the bunch, most bunnies have various reasons they choose to spend dozens of minutes running while reading magazines or listening to music- do not disturb, they are on a mission.

Yogalites
- Following the suit of the the spinners the yogalites find themselves also addicted to the gear, yoga matts, yoga outfits, yoga air and yoga attitude, down to earth and almost too friendly the yogalite is a great mixture of adults seeking neutral grounds or good friendships.
The ones- This are the kind that all the staff that works in your gym talks about or knows by name basis, they will be the kindest or biggest, toughest or strongest- the one that everyone knows and is inspired by. The one is a person that can connect with minimal conversation, the person that gets all the looks but is not phased by it. There are very few ones in a gym. Not to be confused by the other ones that just simply get attention by the wrong reasons.

The nones
- this last category might apply to 70% percent of the gym population, they are the underdogs, they go unnoticed, some days they will be nice to you, some will just be crabby, some will be regulars while others show up few times a month. The none is the stage before the one.  The none has the goal and the dream and is doing something about it every day or week.   What keeps them from reaching "the one" status? Time. Drive.
