How many days a week do you rest? VS W/O WTS ...Cardio
I am working out 6 days a week ... Is this good or should I be resting more? I do split my parts ...
OPinions and rationals appreciated...
Do you do wts and cardio together? I do..
Do you have wt only or cardio only days? I do...
But still wondering if I am doing this right...
B-)
My trainer has me lifting weights 4 days a week & cardio 5 days a week. 3 of those cardio days are 1 hour steady state & the other 2 are 30 minutes of HIIT. So I have Thursdays & Sundays off of training. This seems to be working for me so far! I'm down 15 pounds!!!! I know you need time for muscles to rest, so I wouldn't take more than 2 days of rest off per week!!!
I think it really depends on what your goals are. I workout 6 days a week, and 5 of them are focused on lifting. I also have a knee injury and I'm very limited in what cardio I can do and for how long. I'm making awesome gains with my program and slimming out slowly but surely. I do cardio one day a week that is all cardio. I try to hit up some short cardio a couple times a week after I'm done lifting, if I have time. I think my schedule works out pretty good!
I would say it depends on how you feel and if you're seeing progress. If you're progressing, then why change anything. If you've stagnated, you may want to try a different split.
I am currently on a 5-day split, with 4-days of cardio (2 of those are HIIT), which I do directly after my weights (except on leg day), or on one of my days off.
Thanks all! I knda feel like I have reached a little plateau which was why I asked... So it seems the key is to make sure one makes changed! I want to be very well defined and some areas for me need more work...legs ...B-) They are so much better then before but I want rock hard legs..lol and that I suspect will take a while! hmm These are all good things to look at.. I would love a trainer but do not wish to pay that kind of $$ lol so I shall bump along and learn..I am always learning and so much info here!
Thanks again!
Maybe you could hire a trainer once or twice just to get some advice and tips from them... :)
I may consider this...I never say never that is for sure and I do think it would be a interesting time...
SG, thanks for stopping by the Blog tonight! I've always figured if I can't laugh at myself...somebody else will LMAO!!!
I used to due WTs M/W/F, alternating UBWO/LBWO then cardio TUE/THUR/SAT but in August I commited to attempting "2 a days" hitting WTs in the AM, LBWO MWF, UBWO Tue/Thur/Sat and cardio PMs but work keeps screwing with that so now in Sept I have shaken things up again a little pulling 5-10 minute HIIT intervals, pulling around 90% MHR, before WTs, dead center of WTs, & after WTs. When I jump on cardio mid and end my pulse is usually still around 80% so it's kind of like getting cardio the entire time too!
Good luck young lady! Keep up the fantastic work!!!
BTW, don't hire Soul's trainer...he makes her tell him what works & then only when he manages to show up LOL!!!
