i know i would look a lot better if i was about 20lbs more how can i gain that much weight while working out and doing a lot of running. i would like to build tone and gain is this hard?

Diet, diet, diet.
The pros and every amateur bodybuilder who wants to gain muscle and not just gain fat must eat 6 to 8 times per day. Taking for granted that you are eating the recommended 5 to 6 times now. Those 6 to 8 times per day can have 3 to 4 protein shakes included instead of “chewable” meals.
You need to really pack in the protein. Chicken breasts (skinless), canned (fresh) tuna, lean red meat, quality protein after quality protein along with about 4 good protein shakes per day and you should start seeing the scale move upwards.
That being said, you still need to be really pushing the iron or your body will just store all the extra protein in the form of unwanted fat.
