Sometimes it's hard to take time off from the gym. It get's so etched into your brain that when you don't go you feel like you've crapped out. But then that would be a sign that you really need to take time off. For me, taking time off is doing very light things like going for a walk or something simple like roller blading. That was I'm taking time off from the weights and my brain doesn't know the difference.

I agree with both of the responses so far. I actually am just coming off of a 7 day clense, and I took the entire 7 days off from the gym. it drove me crazy for the first day or so, but my body needed the rest. i think I had worked out like 8 weeks straight. The rest might do your body some good!

Ideas:

-Take a week off and rest.
-Eat more protein. Not getting enough may hamper your body's ability to recover quickly.
-Drink more water. Being dehydrated causes some people to feel like they have low energy.
-8 hours of sleep. Control your schedule.
-Multivitamins to ensure adequate vitamin uptake.
-Don't workout all the time! But work intensely when you do.

We all have days like this. This is where your discipline really has to be strong so that you work out anyway. Think of it as a test.

Good luck!
