Birthday thoughts…..

So it’s that time again….. Time to renew that tag, go to the DMV this year, get my picture taken…..am I really older and wiser? Well, lets see…. In some ways, yes and in others no. As far as my training and nutrition goes, my knowledge has increased tenfold. I know they didn’t teach us half of this stuff in my 4yrs studying nutrition. Do I feel older? Not a day over 21!!!!! *Ahem*.

Since this is about training, I hope to hit 200lbs on my deadlift by Monday, that would be a great short term goal. Then hit 300 by next year…but do I really want to do that? The thought of that makes by posterior chain twitch!! Lol….

Ugh, flu season is upon us… my latest monkey wrench. I’m really trying to fend it off the best I can. I managed to slug my way through my kickboxing workout and now I’m starting to think that may not have been a good idea. I’m drippier than ever. I’ll take a stomach flu, any day…heck i’ll take Montezuma’s revenge at this rate.

Other than that and the sore throat from hell, I had a really good day and my best friend is visiting which means I get adjusted. That’s a treat.

Sunday means football…

I like Sundays because of football. Since the Cowboys lost, my boyfriend will be pissy for the rest of the week….ggggrreatt! I guess that means I should get a free pass for my PMS…it’s only fair… I don’t take it out on other people when my team doesn’t win, which has been very often especially last season…I’m not complaining.What’s a team without their QB…Romo + Cowboys, Brady + Pats……….

They always have next weekend to redeem themselves.

So, you plan your day out, your meals your workouts, etc then something throws a big monkey wrench in your day namely, rain. And worse yet, I ran out of gas at my doorstep. That was me procrastinating, I have no one to blame but myself.

A few simple observations…

So I’ve noticed something at my gym….there are hardly any women in the weight area. I am yet to see any other woman squat or DL. The few who venture,go for the 10lb weights for a few bicep curls. Most of them are plastered on the cardio machines trying their hardest not to sweat. That’s another no-no….sweating is forbidden. I see people spend more time wiping down machines than working down. Today I almost burst out laughing when I saw a young lady spend about 45seconds  laying down her little towel on the twisty-turny ab machine before she knelt on it for about 10reps…all that effort for 10 reps, wow! I felt like telling her not to worry about her towel because the people who use that machine don’t sweat…lol.

It’s a far cry from my other gym, the MMA gym where people don’t think twice about rolling in someone else’s puddle..gross, I know, but who has time to worry about that when you’re being worked to THA bone!

Oh and those of us who have to wear make-up in the gym….interesting especially when the raccoon eyes ensue..Can I go there with those who reek of perfume at 6am in the morning….?

End of rant..

In other news, I need to start doing my HIIT again, I miss my metabolic work. I had a great workout today which means I had a great day even though I ran out of time.
