Slower pace
I went back and started to improve on my exercises by concentrating more on form, slowing down my pace, and sticking to rest periods. My muscles got a much better workout even though I had to lower my weight some. Concentration is a key element to how successful my workout is which is why it’s hard for me to go with friends. Even the music I listen to is slower, unless I’m doing cardio. If I keep this up with a strict diet, I should be seeing some better results.

I have to admit that I may be cutting some technical corners in my effort to build mass and strength. I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing you mention. Slow it down. Drop the weight and really concentrate on the movement and contraction of the muscle. It’s hard for me to not push everything harder than I have too in the gym. It’s hard to shut that off.
