and I got 40 pounds of body weight on you.

Happy New Year…I’m hung over as shit today..No workout. Anyway I saw another article that made me think of you.
According to David Barr it is physiologically impossible to increase strength without a corresponding increase in muscle mass unless you are brand new to training in which case it is a special neurological adaptation that is responsible for your inprovement.
David Barr:
"Unlike novice trainees, strength increases in trained individuals tend to be more a result of muscle growth, which means that there should’ve been some changes in lean body mass accompanying the other gains. "
"Strength gain without mass gain would indicate that the changes are strictly neural in origin, which gets quite complicated and goes beyond the scope of this article."
So I’m guessing your 700lb squat looked something like this:
