“Are you looking at my Butt?” Leg workout

I always enjoy working my legs.  The have been the one bodypart that has improved in size.  Quads are great. Calves have come a long… and many ladies at work, on Myspace, and here on Bodyspace have noticed what the workouts have been doing to my rear.  With that in mind, even though I was really tired, I did get to some lunges to make sure my butt was toned up.

Here’s what happened today:
Barbell Squat (2 warmup sets and then 6 working sets)
Leg Press
Seated Calf raises
Lying Leg Curl
Smith Machine split lunges
Leg Press (low weight)

Next week, I’ll put more emphasis on hamstrings.

Supplements vs. Natural (no supps at all)?

So I let on that I’ve been using supplements to Nick, my workout partner.

He makes fun, and says… you should go natural… I laughed and thought… "you’re 20yrs old, I’m 33 yrs old" and using Whey Protein 3 times a day and Superpump250 1 to 2 times a week doesn’t make me a juicer."

I told him they were supps and not steroids, he says.. You used a weight gainer… I said yeah, two years ago… I was 143Lbs! now I’m 174 Lbs!  I’m an ectomorph!

As the wiser 33yr old, I changed the subject because I could tell he hasn’t read any material on supps or bodybuilding for the matter.

What do you think?  Supplements vs. Natural (no supps at all)

Gotta get that scale going back the other way!

Today I hit shoulders.  I think it has been too long since I made them part of my weekly routine.

Nick was all about it though,

DB Press
Rear Delt Fly
BB upright row
Decline Crunch
Leg Raises
Front Lat Raise
Side Lat Raise

Hoped on the scale after my shower and it read 178Lbs.  I haven’t been doing my cardio like I need to.

Gotta stay focused for the next 8 weeks.

Back day - new Measurements

Met Nick at the gym and we did back plus Deadlifts.
Front Pulldown
Dumbbell Row
Deadlift
Dumbbell Shruggs
Cable Row

Then we took 7mins in the dry sauna.

Then it was time to pullout the tape and step on the scale.  Nothing like a friendly comparison to see how things are going.

Roy {} inches:
Neck: 15.5
Arms: 14.5
Forearm: 12
Shoulders: 46
Chest: 40
Waist: 31.75
Hips: 38
Thigh: 23.5
Calf: 14
Height: 5′9"
Weight: 174 lbs

Nick{} in inches:
Neck: 16
Arms: 14
Forearm: *(forgot to take it)
Shoulders: 45
Chest: 41.5
Waist: 30.5
Hips: *(forgot to take it)
Thigh: 20
Calf: 14
Height: 5′8.5"
Weight: 155 lbs

Nick’s upper body is more bulky than mine, and my Quads are 3" bigger than his.
And that’s how we size up.  We’ll take new measurements in 60 - 90 days.

Cutting Down

In January I peaked at 182Lbs.  As of today, I’m at 176.5 Lbs … and my cut continues.

Today I did Arms and Abs.  After picking up Nick… we headed to 24hr fitness:
45min workout was all the time we had.

So far so good on my cut.

Traps + lifting straps + Barbell = sore.

After looking at my comparison pic - (Rice8787 vs. Royboy01)… I really wanted to focus on my traps.  So I got serious yesterday… picked up some lifting straps. (sorry guys, It’s the first time I’d used them) What a difference they made for me the novice lifter.  The next thing I know I was into my 4th set and still lifting.  I even packed on 20 more pounds and did another set.

Fast Forward to NOW.

Ouch… my traps are so sore… I’ve been mimicking Batman (turn entire torso to look left and right)

I know it’s gonna be really bad in the morning.

No pain no Traps!

Shoulders, Shurggs, and CARDIO to cut it up!

Wow, Shoulders and Shurggs last night with 15mins of Cardio to get things going.

Today I start my 10 week cut.  Along with adding cardio progressively from 15 - 25mins (3 - 5 days/week)  I’m also on Meltdown (fat burner).

This morning I did 20mins of Treadmill and bike.  My biggest challenge will be keeping my protein intake up around 200g per day.

Chest and Triceps last night.

I got a good workout in last night before 10pm

Chest and Triceps.
Incline DB Press
Flat DB Press
Tricep Pull Down (cable with straight bar)
Overhead Tricep ext. (DB overhead)
Decline Press (Hammer Strength)
Cable Cross

then I took a bunch of new progress pics.  These will be a good starting point to keep track of when My abs come back.

Back and Biceps

I hit the gym late today! — 8:22pm

Not good. I spent most of the day at the desk…but when I got to the gym it was all business.

Pullups
Hammer Strength Lat Row
Incline dumbbell curls
Hammer curls
Narrow reverse grip pulldowns
Preacher Curls
